I personally think that if we can win the remainder of our MVC games, that we have a pretty good shot at getting in.

What are some of your guy's thoughts on this?

Only if winning the remainder of the games includes Arch Madness. The NIT may be possible, but the Dance will, IMHO, not happen this year without the Arch title.

Very simple answer...............get hot for 3 or 4 (hopeful that 4 aren't needed) & win the conference tourney! No other way Jose!

ONLY chance is winning MVC Tourney.

Absolutely 100% the correct answer... Will not matter if we win out. You have an awful loss to Ball State among others, have to win the MVC tourney and the chances of this squad doing that are slim. I would say about a 10% chance we make the big dance.

We'll be lucky to get past the 1st game in Arch Madness...Drake is now on a roll while playing 4 guards, and don't expect Evansville to rollover & play dead. Like ISU, they're starting to get healthy again and learning to play w/o an expected key contributor, Bryan Bouchie. The ISU @ UE will be interesting next weekend.

As true blue as we are we would have to run the table the rest of the season to even stir up thoughts of a NCAA trip and this team just isn't going to do that. That's not being harsh it's being realistic. This team shows signs of greatness with 24 point comebacks on the road but it's what puts us in that 24 point hole that has killed us all season. Lack of rebounding, scoring spurts and virtualy no inside presence keeps this squad from being able to put together a 10 or 12 game winning streak. It has been promising to see us comeback and play tough on the road without JK and Lathan but lets not fool ourselfs right now. Lets win the rest of our home games, sneak out another road win or two and win a couple games in the MVC Tourny and aim for the NIT.

I agree with what Sycamore75 said but I wouldn't use this team and the word greatness in the same sentence, fact of the matter is "great" teams don't get in a 24 point hole to begin with...

I like the discussion that this thread has created and don't want to take anything away from that, but the thought of this team running the table and or getting to the big dance is ridiculous. Because even if for some reason this team did run the table they still would be on the outside looking in for the Big Dance.

I remember ISU being down 20 at halftime against Evansville with Larry Bird in the lineup. That was a great team. Difference was ISU beat Evansville that year. I'm not saying ISU is great this year, just that your reasoning for excluding them from greatness has some holes in it.

Oh, let's plunge deep into my post and find out a way to make it incorrect... Thanks Mr. Bob Evans, you are indeed correct, their have been "great" teams in the past down by 20 or more points. The point is that Indiana State has been doing this all season and to suggest that this team has showed any signs of greatness is ridiculous to me, I would call it more so a piss poor effort by MSU than anything else.

Look some folks want to look at that game as a moral victory and say that at least they didn't pack it up and go home like Sycamore teams have done in the past and I respect those of you who feel that way. But I am tired of hearing about moral victories at Indiana State, I want real victories in the win loss column. I am tired of this, wait until next year talk because that turns into wait until the year after next. It brings me back to why Jake Odum should have been activated the day after Jake Kelly went down, hell why wait until the day after should have happened to start the second half. Moral victories suck, they are good for nothing - people that can't win at anything settle for moral victories.

Yeah, even if we somehow won out in the regualr season, it would mean nothing when it comes to going to the "Big Dance" unless we win the tourney in STL. 8 losses are about 2 or 3 too many for a mid-major if they don't win their confrence tournament.

Well said. Sad but true, kids.

So, why DIDN'T K-Mac pull the redshirt? Have faith in the coaching staff.

Because the Staff, in their DEPTH analysis, placed too much focus on the value of backcourt SCORING, versus ballhandling & passing...and its overall impact upon TEAM success.

4Q It has nothing to do with having faith in the coaching staff - I am not mad at the coaching staff or calling for anyones job. I would have done it different, that's all. Different than them, different than you. I understand your position, understand mine.

I do understand your position but they are obviously not going to pull a redshirt this late into a season; now, were there to be a a flood of injuries...
let's just hope that we make it through the rest of the season without more injuries.

As it's every fan's right to kvetch, I understand...

I think we were 22-10 the year we got a at large in 1999-2000??? I am not saying we are going to get in this year but we have in the past
