Probably liked some of the out of the box D2 names thrown around in this thread a little more, but didn't really seem like they were in consideration. As has been said South Alabama isn't the easiest place to get it done so willing to see how this goes with Graves. Now let's fill out a roster!
Maybe the donors will still contribute to salary with this hire. Guess we'll find out. Immediate need is putting a roster together then address ways to increase NIL coffers for the future.
Part of me thinks also getting a localish Indiana guy that has strong ties to the area, will do the fanbase pretty good after what we just went through.
If Graves is successful, the only program that I could realistically think that we would lose him too is Butler. If he gets a call from IU or any other P5, holy shit he knocked it out of the park here and we had a couple 2023-24 type seasons.

Graves was also a horrible HC
Graves has earned the opportunity now he needs to earn his pay. Hopefully he learned that offense the last 3 years and keeps it.
I just hope the fans come back and we get at least 6,000 in the house, don't want to see those dark days of 3,000 or less. Now will also see how much of the current roster will stay or those portal guys come back to ISU.
Also, like I mentioned a few times, when ISU was on the map, post Bird years, the program went down, down, down,. I will not except those years of going 7-20, for example To keep the momentum, we must WIN NOW!!! We have to take advantaged of what Schertz proved: If Indiana State wins, the team will once again fill up the Hulm,an Center, and our profile will continue to rise.
I get all that, Graves, has Hoosier blood in him, has been extremely Loyal to ISU, and finally he really wants the job. Bottom line,next coach must deliver a winner, and yes I am an ISU alumni.!!
