Better yet, how many during his 5-yr. tenure @ Dayton as HC?

Do recall an SIU player transferring...Kevin Dillard - pretty good player.

NOT having Hoosier kids on his roster doesn't mean he DIDN'T go after them. Also looks like the high FLYING Catholics prefer casting for the fish on the Atlantic seaboard.

Good article:

“The last couple of years our guys would work hard to get a guy and it would come down to us and a place like Michigan State, and (Tom) Izzo would end up getting them,” John Miller said. “And it wasn’t because the kid didn’t want to go to UD. It was like, ‘Hey, it’s Michigan State! It’s Izzo!’ And boom, we’d lose him because it was a bigger place.”

Well, if that excuse doesn't fly for Lansing, why should it fly for Archie that have 3x the basketball budget?

Miller spent a lot of time in The Chicago area and the New York/East Coast area. Dont even recall him ever being mentioned with an Indiana kid.

The guy can find talent though, and he can recruit. Getting talent to Bloomington wont be an issue for him.

Biggest loser with Archie going to Bloomington (besides UD) is Ohio State. With Thad Matta getting worse in health and record from year to year, there were a lot of Ohio State fans planning on having Archie on their sideline in the near future.

Because LANSING isn't winning...or collecting post-season NCAA revenue for the University.
But he has, correct? Point being is if a "mid-major" like Dayton can't come into Indiana and get quality kids, is it really a surprise our program will continue to bounce up and down with literally a third or fourth of the resources of a fellow Midwestern "mid-major" program? There have only been a couple successful mid-major programs that have recruited Indiana hard and with decent success and they all have at least double the budgets and play/played in so called "inferior" conferences like the Horizon or Ohio Valley.

"Has" is 3 yr. old past tense...and ISU program stability is "tenuous" at best. Most truthful observers would agree, that NEXT SEASON will determine if GL will face the ISU employment "guillotine."

I also classify DAYTON as a step above the casual "mid-major," given their decades-old success in high caliber hoop.
