Good article Jason - most people around here just don't get it!

It's really a damn shame and no wonder we don't make any gains. People don't stand up for the school that they attend/attended.

I'd rather be known as someone who goes over the top and out of the way to put his school first than someone who turns his head. If that makes me crazy or brings on unwanted hate then bring it my way - I can handle it.

Like the nonsense from Ernie Thompson?

That is actually what made me write it this morning. I'm going to be interested to see the reach and how many Sycamore fans will actually share or post it on their social media. So far, it has been you, Tommy and ITF.

There are a lot of fans of Sycamore athletics that never attended Indiana State so I would not direct your message to only current students or alums of 20 yrs. ago. I do however agree with the message. By the same reasoning it would be interesting to know how many IU fans ever attended an IU class? Mu guess is a heck of a lot of the basketball fans in particular.

For sure. I simply went with the student/alum angle because I believe they have the most to lose/gain through their fandom. As for the IU numbers, I'd imagine it is pretty mixed. Much like Notre Dame football and their huge "subway alumni" contingent, Indiana basketball has the same thing. There is a reason die hards from both IU and ND call their dual fans "reversible jackets." It is very common for folks form Indiana to support IU hoops and ND football. Those people are littered all over my Facebook timeline and most went to Indiana State.

He reps Sycamore Nation as well as anyone I will ever meet. He leads by example!!!

Thanks for doing what you do brother!
