A tailgating group for home games? I cannot commit to road games, but I can make the home games and I would like to form something similar to the Colts Blue Crew. If there are enough people interested, I may contact Indiana State about getting an area dedicated for the group. Tom had talked about this last year, but ultimately we need folks to sign on the dotted line so to speak.

i like the idea of a blue crew for isu football....

we had a former player back in the 1990s....his dad was a long-haul trucker.....he fixed up his 18-wheeler and had it repainted....with the isu football logo...pictures of key players......it was really neat....they would tailgate next to it at home and away games.....the horn played the isu fight song...it was really, really cool.....you could hear him coming from a mile away....lol.....

Definitely sounds like a good idea. To date, the Gefferts' RV has been ground zero for tailgating. Setting up next to them would be ideal.

I'll stop by for the one or two games I can make it to. The nine hour round trip to TH makes it a little difficult for me to make it to games regularly.
 
i am interested...can i tie in the isu football alumni...

in with this group...and invite them to take part as well in the tailgating?????....

Yes, we need as many as possible. Basically I'd like to go to the University and ask for a reserved section of space but I'm not going to waste their time unless we've got enough interest.

i talked to darin westerfield last year about tailgating....

and he said just to let him know.....how much area that we needed......maybe we can set up inside the stadium area...behind the hill......
 
TJ, I am pretty sure that Dave & Jay at the Ballyhoo might jump on board here. They generally have an organized pre-game event at every game already, complete with grills AND beer. I can't speak for them but it would be a great way to possibly get this jump-started and get a Blue Crew "sponsor" at the same time. Just a thought.
 
I don't think being behind inside behind the hill would be a good idea. My whole thought is to start something and grow it. The program needs supporters and I wouldn't want to be exclusionary right off the bat like that.
 
PS starting a student group that is seperate from the Blue crew kind of like the student ran red zone at Illinois State

One thing for sure in my mind, that if you do this, you want to be as visible as you can possibly be. Being in the backyard. so to speak, won't do that at all. Make it so EVERYONE can see you having fun, supporting the team... and then, they will want to join in.

Exactly.

Additionally, I've slowly been picking up Sycamore tailgate items. I hope to have a pretty nice setup.
