I hate to bust his bubble, but did he score more than 3 ft away from the bucket against Park Tudor? And class 2A, also. What would he look like in the MIC?

I am not sure how good he really is. The bottom line with him--if he doesn't want to be a Sycamore I don't want him here.

You guys realize he was All-Chicago Catholic League 1st team and played on one of the powerhouse teams in Illinois right? He would have been a huge get for us.

If he didn't really want to be here, if his heart isn't in it, his ability would be greatly diminished by his attitude. He would be a great asset to the ISU program if he wanted to be here. The IF is the issue here, not his ability. I wish he wanted to be a Sycamore. Maybe he will change his mind--doesn't seem likely though.

Saw him today. I'd take him all day, every day. He's a Division 1 athlete and has a nice burst and can finish around the bucket. He also hit a few threes and his form looked decent on the shots. There was one spurt where he was credited for 4-5 assists in a row.

If I had to compare him to someone in the Missouri Valley, I'd say he reminds me of UNI's Ahelegbe.

Seems like that statement describes a significant portion of our alumni base...

If Filer WANTS to be a Sycamore; that's great but if he doesn't, that's fine too. Really HOPE he WANTS to be a Sycamore...

Well, that's that. Looks like Filer, like Jones who we offered last Summer bother want a bigger program.

JONESING FOR PREP SCHOOL: Merrillville's Jeremiah Jones confirmed that he plans to attend Brewster Acadamy along with Bishop Noll's Adonis Filer. Both guards have D-I offers on the table but both are 17 and believe another year to grow would be good.

"I have offers from Indiana State and VCU," Jones said of Virginia Commonwealth, which shocked the nation by advancing to the NCAA's Final Four. "But they offered me before the season started. I did not know how good they were going to be."

PREP SCHOOL II: Filer opened the eyes of many on the Indiana All-Star selection committee after amazing many in last week's Class 2A state championship game at Conseco Fieldhouse.

It continued on Sunday afternoon.

"Every time I step on the floor I know that eyes are always watching," Filer said. "So I came out and played hard."

Baylor, Oregon State and Nebraska have all shown great interest in Filer.

"I have some good looks but I'd like to see what else is out there," Filer said. "This was amazing to be among the Top 60 in Indiana. To compete with the best in this state means a lot. I hope the (All-Star) coaches view me as a good hard-working, unselfish point guard who hates to lose."

Am i the only person who wants this kid but doesn't want him at the same time? I mean if he wants to come in and be a member of something special which I am sure that he could be here at State...that's great! But I get the feeling this a kid who has fallen in love with the idea of playing at a larger school and hope this prep school year really opens up his offers.

this should be in the '11 folder.
He's going to prep school. He'll be a 2012 kid now.
