What % of of 1A kids make it in Div I v. 2A- 3A & 4A products? The adjustment is rare...

Count the college scouts in attendance at the comparative class IHSAA Finals...tell ya anything?

Bloomington South currently has only 1 loss to before mentioned Center Grove. They have numerous kids going to D1 programs after this season. Bowman is more like a 3A school than a 1A school. They aren't playing teams like Turkey Run and Rockville. They are playing teams like Bloomington South and Washington, but from other states. RJ Mahurin is from a 1A school and the Eitel twins are from a 2A Illinois school, which is about our 1A school sizes, so what is your point?

talent is talent. Adjustment? bunch of balony. you are making zero sense. Are you saying you don't want to recruit the best talent? Hey, let's just recruit schools that face west.

Anyway, tell us the truth...you were smoking something when you came up come up with that analysis of ....someone will have to prove to me that larger schools produce more D1 players than smaller schools.

Hey, let's stroll down memory lane and just look at East Chicago Washington with Trgovich, Stoddard, Junior and Bridgeman and others on that team. Didn't Darnell Addell on that squad go to Indiana State? Better yet, didn't most of the kids on that team play college ball somewhere?

If small schools produce so many D1 players, and let's say we stay in 1971... Now name the 25 small high schools in Indiana 1971 that created an equal number of D1 players, equal to the talent on just one large IN HS Basketball team like ECW. Heck...let's make it 50 small Indiana High Schools in 1971.

I'm just trying to use common sense. I don't have any statistics.
Instead of using ECW, pick a large school that won 4 games that year and compare them to Springs Valley in 1974.
How many counties would it take to equal the number of students in Marion County? There are a lot of D1 players in IN every year. Heck, Avon has two now. I think Marion county is 1/4 of the state, isn't it. So do more than 1/4 of the D1 players come from Indy? I don't know the answer, but I don't think it's an irrational statement.
Our women have commitments from McCutcheon, Plainfield, Heritage Christian and Mt. Vernon. What size schools are the Eitels, RJ, Kitchell and Carter from? Not sure about McWhorter's or Printy's schools.
 
Why is everyone overlooking the obvious??

Bowman Academy is a PRIVATE school in a LARGE, METRO area.

They can (if they choose) control their enrollment; PUBLIC high schools cannot.

Eitels are walk-ons...might've got schollies to Div II...any other I offers?
Mahurin is a redshirt frosh & still raw behind the collar. The book is still out on his "toughness" and ability to play inside. Class A ball is not nearly as physical as 3-4A, thus the need for GREATER ADJUSTMENT at the collegiate level, generally speaking...THAT'S MY POINT!

there might be more adjustment. that's of no concern. have you ever heard of AAU? their hs ball experience is probably 30% of their total.

They signed two kids from Bowman. They signed G Tyrae Robinson and F Chris Bond. Both kids are averaging over 15 mpg as true freshmen. They also have another 4-star 2012 kid in DeJuan Marrero who has offers from Cincy, DePaul, Illinois, Indiana, Memphis, Ohio State and Purdue.

Naw...never heard of AAU. Is that a Summer program that focuses on teaching basic hoop skills to enhance those opting for "motion offense"-based collegiate programs?

Well, I guess we both know they probably don't learn much in the way of basic skills. But they sure get to play against good competition, such as it is. I'll bet the Indiana AAU teams play a little better team ball than some other areas of the country that are loaded with "athletic" abitlity. I watched some of the IN AAU teams last summer and it wasn't that bad. I thought the point guards especially were focused on moving the ball, etc.

Bowman plays one of the toughest schedules in the state regardless of class. They play national powers from Chicago, Ohio, and West VA. So, saying he is from a 1A school doesn't make sense in this case. Usually it does but not this time.
 
Bowman got its IHSAA qualification not this season, but last season, where it won the state tournament and for their first 2 sectional games, had scores somewhere in the ball park of 100-35 and 100-40. Don't think of them as a 1A...Think of them as an Academy...because thats what they are. Similar to LaLumiere in LaPorte, IN. I think Bowman found the loophole in the fact that they do not have 5th year seniors, but don't quote me on that (I am not well versed in IHSAA team qualifications). Don't make the false assumption that because Bowman is 1A, Elijah Ray is not good. He isn't the best player on his team; thanks to highly touted recruit, DeJuan Marrero He is a solid 4 man. No where near athletic enough to be D-1 SF and way too short to be D-1 Center. Now listed at 6'7" (I still think that is pretty generous); he still knows his way around the game. Solid IQ, good hustler and just knows where to be on the court.
