Did he ever actually enroll at IUPUI? I know he was supposed to go there after transferring from Iowa, but he never played did he? Left before the season even started I think.

Wonder who is looking at him now, or who he is looking at playing for?

I assume that's "our" Ingram. I'd forgotten that he was going to IUPUI.

11 games into the season, Bennett averaging 21.9 points per game, shooting 58% from the field, 53% from 3 pt range, 46 assists and 18 turnovers (2.6/1 ratio). Also has 20 steals.

To be honest, in my own opinion(which isn't worth much), I really like the talent we have coming in. We have some real shooters and ball handlers. I'm real curious how minutes are going to be spread out as the 4 seniors we are losing amount to 94 minutes a game.

I hope you're right about the handling. I think that is an overlooked talent that mid-majors must improve on to move up.

Two things to point out. First, it was 7pm Texas time, so the game is just about to tip off, sorry for not realizing it was Central time and not Eastern.

Second, isn't it amazing how this junior college in Texas has a FREE stream of their game and the quality is superior than the PAY stream from State?

Well, first let me say that I did not watch the entire game, but I did watch most of it.

Port Arthur looked very sloppy for most of the game and trailed by double digits for a good portion of it as well.

Bennett was struggling as well, had a few bad passes that resulted in TOs and was missing from the outside, but still showed a lot of quickness and good ball handling,......

Then with about 3 minutes to go and Port Arthur down by six, he got it going. He scored 16 points in the last three minutes and on the other teams final possession he picked the guards pocket clean. Scored inside on drives, outside on three pointers, at the free throw line, it was pretty impressive.

After losing almost the entire game, Port Arthur wins by five 75-70.

Wow, 16 points in 3 min. Very impressive at any level. Thx for the report.

Write up of Tre's great second half. Just absolutely carried his team down the stretch, was fun to watch.

After about three weeks off, Tre's team returns to action tonight. I don't know much about the opponent tonight, but tomorrow they will play Pensacola State, who I believe they lost to earlier, and that should be a competitive game.

You can use the link below to watch either game. Tonight it is listed as 6pm Texas time (7pm for those in the Eastern time zone) but it is supposed to start after the first game, so it will probably be closer to the bottom half of the hour.

Tomorrow's game is listed as 4pm Texas/Central time, but it is the second game so probably closer to the bottom half of the hour (5:30 in the Eastern TZ).

The stream is basically one camera at the top of the bleachers with no replays, but it is not the worst video. Bennett is number 15 and anytime he is in he will be bringing the ball up the court.

If anyone watches, please post their thoughts on what they see.....

Watched most of the first game, and I didn't catch the second game until around 10 minutes left in the second half.

The first game his team won very easily and he didn't really play much in the second half. I think they were up by around 30 at halftime, so he didn't really do anything that stuck out.

The second game was against Pensacola who had beaten them earlier in the season. I picked it up with about ten minutes to play and Lamar State-Port Arthur up by four I think. Tre played fairly well in the time I was online. While he didn't score a ton of points during the time I watched, he did score five in the last two minutes when the game was still close. He hit a big three pointer and then hit both his freebies when the other team was forced to foul. What I did like was that it was obvious he wanted the ball in his hands as the game came down to the end.

For the game he finished with 26 points and made 5-7 three pointers. The only criticism I would have was that with about 60 seconds to play and his team up by maybe 8 or 9 points, you would think they would just want to run the clock out or wait to get fouled. One of his teammates threw him a skip pass and he put up a quick three pointer that missed. While it didn't have an impact on the final score or his team losing the game, it still wasn't a "smart" bball play. I can guarantee it will be something that would put him in GL's doghouse if he would do it next year. Other than that, no complaints.

The kid can flat out shoot. I know we have talked about how he will play tougher teams, tougher defenses, etc. next year but the kid is halfway through his season and is still shooting over 50% from behind the three point line. He is pretty darn quick too and I think he will be a very good defender, but he will have to make more of a commitment to it. That doesn't mean he is lazy or refuses to play tough defense, but the teams he plays against don't value possessions like teams in the Valley do. He only has to play defense for about 12-15 seconds usually and the other team is shooting. He will have to spend a lot more time playing defense next year as most of our opponents will not be throwing up a shot so early in their possessions. Just want to make sure everyone understands my point on that one.
