Easy recruiting ground (NYC/surrounding megalopolis) for schools w/ sizable recruiting budgets...and local kids can use BASKETBALL as an upward mobility "travel ticket." Can ya blame them for desiring to play in FL, NC, CA or KY...compared to NYC? Very similar to Indiana today, as IU/PU & ND no longer hold the "key" to hoop success, as shown by the exodus of talent to non-Hoosier schools w/ good programs.
