So because this kid is dunking at the end of the game, he is a bad kid? Bottom line is our roster is filled with a bunch of soft kids. I want to recruit some kids with an edge to them... kids that will dunk emphatically on you when they're already up 20 because that's how they're wired. That's not dumping on Coach or anyone else, that's simply my desire that I'm completely entitled to.

Having a couple of those kids can rub off on those other guys and have a positive impact (Myles Walker, for example) so how about we cut the holier-than-thou nonsense.

Maybe I misunderstood. I wasn't talking about this one player. I thought you were saying that winning was more important than recruiting good character.

Extra video that has multiple players. Nike is #22 as if you didn't catch that from the previous clips.

If we're being 100% honest with ourselves, winning is the most important thing when it comes to the coaching profession. When you start making $200k, $500k all the way up to the $7.2m per year Coach K makes, colleges want tangible returns on their investment and they can't cash in on 12-20 seasons and graduating their kids.

They're using sports as a "front door" to their University and when you use it for marketing purposes, if it isn't making money, it had damn well be attracting prospective students. Prospective students don't want to associate with losers. If you want the feel good stories of college athletics of yesteryear, it would be best to drop down to Division 2 or 3 where it is more about the love for the game.

I know you may not want to hear that, and I'm not exactly enamored with the state of college athletics, but that is the system we've got and it is only going to continue to trend further that way as media deal keep adding 0s on the end of them. Some SEC schools received $40 MILLION from their media deal in 2016 alone. That doesn't include ticket sales, contributions, merchandising, their NCAA win shares -- straight media money.

So it doesn't really matter how I value character. At the end of the day, the coach has to win to save his job or the school will fire him and start the process all over again. It's why cheating coaches find a way to rise to the top of the profession, why the blue chip prospects can get away with disgusting behaviors, so on and so forth.

Hell of a game by him today. He put them on his back during the 3rd quarter.

He will make some college coach very happy soon. Hopefully it will be Lansing.

Scout.com article i recently read (last 3 days) said he is likely to reclassify and go to prep school. Hope it's not the case, could explain his lack of offers since decommiting tho
