I don't hear of Lansing himself getting out their much, no. I hear a lot of "Indiana State was in to see X player," but I don't hear much about Lansing physically attending games, practices or open-gyms. Maybe I'm wrong about that, but in the past it seems Lansing has pushed recruiting onto more of his assistants than himself.

From my view, it either means we're VERY serious about this kid or he's changing his philosophy some and doing more of the recruiting himself.

Maybe those that go to AAU games can speak better about that. It's certainly not me. I just assumed all mid-major head coaches had to travel a lot to get players.

Yes, the fact that he is there certainly means we are serious and means he's interested.

This is his job. You can't turn everything over to assistant's like we do our substituting. Does anyone know if his background comes from TH?
I seem to recall the Sibande name at Terre Haute South in the past. Not sure of relationship??

Steve Hart and I played a lot of street ball In the late 80's. He was always the last guy we'd pick-up in those days. In 1989, he went to L.A. to see his Dad that summer. He came back jumping out of the gym and the rest is history. Steve was the best athletically gifted player I've ever played against and the best basketball player to never go pro. His weaknesses were his ball handling and his jump shot. If he'd of fine tuned both he'd of went pro based on his natural ability alone.

Darren Hancock came close to transferring to State in 1995 to play with Hart I'd of been a fun time around the Valley, but they couldn't land Hancock. Just like State just missing on Patrick Ewing in the early 80's. People forget that Ewing wanted and almost came to play at State.

Yeah, believe this guy has some TH roots..Not sure when he went to indy, but it would be cool to land him and Washington...Give some TH flare to the roster...Last time that happen with Odum, Mahurin, Kelly, and Gant we became a pretty good team..Sign me up for that

Now that would bring excitement back....and probably boost attendance for ISU basketball for sure!!

I'll take a handful of those kids, please. I'm sick of having the nice, consummate teammate that helps us go 11-20 every year.

You and pbutler218 are sinking to a new low. Dumping on the Coach and recruiting bad kids is ok. Why don't we all go ahead and throw all of our civility out the window.

So because this kid is dunking at the end of the game, he is a bad kid? Bottom line is our roster is filled with a bunch of soft kids. I want to recruit some kids with an edge to them... kids that will dunk emphatically on you when they're already up 20 because that's how they're wired. That's not dumping on Coach or anyone else, that's simply my desire that I'm completely entitled to.

Having a couple of those kids can rub off on those other guys and have a positive impact (Myles Walker, for example) so how about we cut the holier-than-thou nonsense.

Thanks for this post Jason. My thoughts EXACTLY IMO!!

I didnt see anything at the game that said he was a bad kid. If anything blame the coach for having him out there that long when it was decided...im not hating on a kid for continuing to try and put the ball in the hoop.
