Is this our SF? Looks like a possible combo forward. We might not get our G-F swing this year, but I think our roster has got it covered.
We are getting bigger.

How did we come across this kid? We've not normally recruited foreign players. Has he played in the States?

Coach Lansing said the kid has been out of school for a year but playing for an unpaid pro team over there. I believe he said a former player reached out to them about him. Best part of Lansing's interview was that he described him as 6'11!!!! Awesome.

Before i am accused of over-hype, this kid seems to have some real skills. I know its just a work-out video, but still.... also really like that we are going to have him for 4 years, and that he's been out of school for a year.

Can everyone who does remember please not take jabs at our former players of that size who just didn't pan out.

Yeah, let's not go there. Let's just be happy that we've landed a big man with some ball skills and a nice looking jump shot. He needs to add A LOT of weight, but the foundation is there and he seems to have potential. Hard to tell how athletic he is without game film, but he appears to have the tools to be successful in the MVC if he works hard.

Good luck to him, and I'm glad he's a Sycamore!

I think DeCarsta Webster and Michael Kernan were similar size. (I think I got the names right) Kitchell was 6'10", and that looked legitimate.

Kernan was 170-180 pounds soaking wet and not for a lack of trying. I remember when he was a frosh, I'd see him eat a ton but couldn't gain.

Rick Darnell '72-73 was 6'10"+...only played one yr. @ ISU after two (2) seasons @ Cypress JC (CA) as backup to 7'er Swen Nater, who was Bill Walton's backup @ UCLA. He transferred to San Jose St. from ISU for his final season.

Darnell was stretched out in the back seat of my '68 Delta 88 during Spring Break - Daytona Beach when Walton went on an NCAA tournament terror! Darnell wouldn't shut up...lol

Rick avg. 10 PPG & 8 reb...with his best game v. ex-Celtic ROBERT PARISH & Centenary @ home in an 85-80 "upset."

Those damn paisley shirts of his were too much...I knew he was headed back West & Malibu Beach. He was homesick as soon as he arrived in TH. Not sure how ISU convinced him to leave the West Coast "sun & fun."
