Word on the street is that he's back in Owensboro chilling....no prospects for the year to this point.

Did he have grade issues or something? Can't believe he hasn't enrolled anywhere. I bet we could still find a spot for him. Tell him to come on up!!

It seems like the only thing Trace Young is concerned about is Trace Young. I wouldnt want this kid anywhere near campus at this point.

Don't know Trace so I can't judge him. I just know everyone around this forum WAS all excited about the prospect of landing him at one time. Again......I know nothing about him personally.

Grades were not an issue. He cleared NCAA protocols with flying test scores. There were potential transcript / credit issues late in the year last May, but he resolved them and graduated in good standing. Me thinks there are a few questions around his lack of availability for late season tournement games that might have made a few scholarship offers go up in smoke.

He has some good offers already.
My guess is all he had left was us, Illinois State and Troy. Those are the only ones from 2017 on VerbalCommits and 247. Most of his other reported offers came in 2014 and 2015. When resources are finite, there is an expiration on them, staffs may change and the new assistants may not like the same kids, an offer may get pulled because they filled up at the position, etc.

Also doesn't help when you play AAU with kids getting HM offers and you think you're better than they are or you may have an AAU coach or parent pumping false confidence in your ear about you deserve better offers.

Makes sense but still strange no one helped him get through this process much better and come up with a better result. He is a player.

I can speak to this a little bit, having worked at the HS he finished up at. The other offers different than Trees, Redbirds. Read, "different," how you wish, but the parade of coaches coming through school was a nice list...one that people on this board have opined ISU not being in the neighborhood of. He's a legit 8ppg - 10ppg guy in the MoVal as a freshman. There are legitimate concerns about keeping him eligible away from the classroom. I like him a ton as a kid, and a player. He's also burned up lots of credibility along the way.

Sad as he has the basketball skills and talent as he demonstrates in the video. Too many stories like this, hope he gets a chance to play basketball somewhere and gets some good advice and maybe becomes humble and builds his credibility back to some extent--he can play the game.
