'19 GA C Christopher Agbo (12/10/2018)

WANTED: Passionate Sycamore Fanatics. That You?

At that position - Myles Walker. We’ve had pretty good rebounders at other positions. Davis and Scott were both solid on boards last year. Several years ago now Richard and Lathan were fairly decent on the glass.

Just in body style alone the young man draws an instant comparison to Walker. Hopefully he plays with the same mean streak that Walker did. When Walker was dialed in (i.e. Arch Madness 2011) we were a tough team to beat.

Not really an article, but the pictures give you a better idea of the physical specimen he is. And this was from a few years ago, so he has only gotten bigger. This is a small quote from a summary of one of the day's games......

"Chris Agbo will have to go to a junior college after he finishes up at Covenant Christian in Marietta, Georgia. After his two years at the JUCO level he’s going to be a high-major big. Why? Because he rips down boards. He had 21 against Oldsmar Christian. He’s one of the toughest dudes around."

I bolded my favorite part of the quote.

Good thing we raised all that money through elevate cuz this dude is going to eat his fair share.. good to have another myles in the program!

Welcome to the family, Christopher! He looks like the big, nasty interior presence we need. Perfect fit physically for a 4 guard lineup.

Krutwig at Loyola better be ready for a battle in Terre Haute next year with this dude in the fold!

A commitment full of “Thank you’s” is a selfless and beautiful commitment! You see that thrown into other more scripted responses by high profile athletes but that is good stuff.

It looks like someone is going to lose their scholarship according to the article. Kessinger is the only decent big guy we have coming back next year and that isn't saying much. I think Brinkmeyer has played better than Huenerman. I really wish we would stop getting Europeans on the team. It seems like they all play weak. Then we have a ton of guards on the team. Let the debate begin on who should lose their scholarship. Clearly Lansing isn't happy with someone if he's still recruiting and taking in commitments.

Agbo is definitely a welcome addition.

Don’t you guys ever question why we recruit guys who don’t have other offers from decent schools? I do.
At this point, I’m not impressed with him only getting interest from Jacksonville and Southern Mississippi.
I know I’ve never seen him play, but I do know we never develop any big man.
Of course I’m hoping for a diamond in the rough and he can be the best center we’ve ever had.
If he’s that good, let’s hope he maintains his interest and actually signs next April.

I hope Lansing gets to make that decision. I can't shake the feeling that academics may make the decision for him. I hope this is not the case. It's kind of like the feeling that you are going to catch a cold before you actually get sick. YUK!

Agree. Especially ALL of the Europeans we've had from the Sudan via Canada like Arop.

I've seen Jacksonville play. If they want him, then I want him.

If he and Brink can elevate the offensive rebounds by 3-4 per game, a 5 game improvement in the win column is possible.

So I’ll have to consult the eligibility chart but someone tell me how we had another spot open for him? We lost 5 players and gained 6 right?

No, we gain 5: Barnes, Hankins, Williams, Agbo and LaRavia.

I think you're including Bacote, but Bacote was on scholarship last year as a transfer so we only had 12 active scholarships in use. We're back to the full 13 with him becoming eligible.
