MSU: Perennial also-rans, recent "success" will not grow team
ILSU: Down year for Crimson Crows....again
YSU: No defense whatsoever
SDSU: Flew too close to the sun in '09

I like your predictions. I think UNI is the team to beat in the MVFC right now, until someone else can knock them off the top, which could be this year. I can't wait til September comes knockin' at my door.
 
Hard to argue with what you have listed. It seems possible to make an argument for INSU to finish anywhere in the top 5, but realistically I feel top 3.
 
I can agree with UNI being picked to finish 1st in most preseason polls, but I think this is the year ISU proves all the doubters wrong (those who say ISU had a "flash in the pan year" last year and will drop back to 9th this year).

If you read thru the other message boards noone has a clue about what ISU has coming back, the important thing is the team knows and we, as fans, know what ISU has coming back, and what is expected this year.

Having said that I think ISU finishes 2nd or 3rd and winds up in the I-AA playoffs for the 1st time in decades.
 
IF we find a replacement for Fouch, I think next season could be our year, but this season the schedule isn't as kind as it was last year. Hoping for a finish in the top half and maybe, just maybe, the playoffs!!!

Has anyone else seen the expectations they have for us on mvcfans? Some fans have stated they expect us to finish in the bottom 2 and that last season was a fluke and that we were just that good because we couldn't do any worse. That boils my blood. Those people have no sense, but they will see what we have to offer after we upset Penn State.
 
I saw what they're writing, whatever you do, do NOT go over there and start spouting off about ISU. It will be completely counterproductive. Our guys will prove it on the field, then we can go over there and say "told ya so". But for now refrain from posting, it's the best thing to do.

The meltdowns when we beat those teams will be even more epic this season than they were last season. It's going to be hysterical.

I agree--we will have our fun, at their expense, during the season.
 
I did post over there before I posted this here and told them that last season wasn't a fluke and that I hope they enjoy looking up at us at the end of the season.
 
that's exactly what you shouldn't have done, I haven't went back over there, but I am sure they're laughing at your post. Again, let'em think what they want, but ISU fans will have the last laugh. Like I said above, their meltdowns will be even more epic and entertaining this season. Be patient...

I shake my head at Landrus, using logic with Beatingrillz is like trying to talk to a four year old who hates johnny. No matter what you say and show him logic all he will say is, "I know what you are but what am I?"
 
Greenwell, I see you joined the parade over there, I'm telling you guys it's not in our best interest to post on that thread, NOONE else in the conference is gonna give ISU ANY credit, they're gonna come up with every reason in the book why last year was a fluke and how ISU is gonna sink to 9th place again this year.

Just leave it alone, let ISU prove how good they are on the field, then we fans can go back and laugh at all the people who said we were gonna "suck" so bad this year.

We know how good the team is gonna be, who cares what some idiot UNI and MSU fans think??

If I remember right you guys are returning a beast on the D-Line that gave Arkin fits last year. I'm not gonna say you guys were a fluke, it's hard to see you going from another losing season to playoffs. That said I don't buy into the UNI pedigree so I would take anything they say with a grain of salt as you can my analysis. I think the Beats are going to run the table starting with Arkansas then Oregon. I just can't wait to get some revenge on the Sycs. One thing I know is it will be an exciting game, I think the last 3 or 4 have been either OT or 1 possession games.

the ISU-MSU games the past few seasons have been very good, I don't expect it to be any different this year.

Yeah they have been very competitive. So here is to a great game with the Bears coming out on top.
