Multiple outlets are reporting that IUPUI has fired Todd Howard after 3 seasons.

What is weird is several are reporting he is still in North Dakota with the team at his league tournament. Talk about awkward if true. So they will have a new coach and new arena next year. Will be interesting to see who they hire as you can't get much more momentum going into a new season if you make the right one.

South Dakota, but really the same thing, LOL

As mentioned in another thread, Auburn fired Tony Barbee.

South Florida fires Stan Heath, who besides taking Kent St to the Elite Eight back in 2002 has done nothing, yet keeps landing HC jobs.

Looks like Auburn will do what it takes to win in hiring Pearl.

Overall in CBB, I think they're up to like 12-15 firings already.

Marquette Job Open - Dominoes Falling

Wake Forest's job is open too, thank God Bdzelik is gone! That was an AWFUL hire from the get go, he went from a losing record at Colorado to the head coach at Wake 4 years ago, people were pissed when he was hired and are still pissed 4 years later.

Marquette and Tom Crean would both benefit from a reunion.

I know it is a similar coaching style, but a guy I would like State to go after if Lansing were to go elsewhere would be Dan Dakich. He is a big name that has very strong Indiana ties and now having traveled all over with ESPN has more National recognition. Those ties would give him a leg up on recruiting and you would thing kids would like a chance to play for a guy they have seen share his knowledge on tv.

We could do better than Dakich. He wasn't much of a head coach. Besides, he's in a pretty cushy gig now.

More dominoes need to fall before I see Lansing's name being mentioned, but I don't doubt they will. There are plenty of D1 HC openings every year.
