And your point is??? You think he's not learned his lesson from his last college gigs? Right, I don't either.
SP, I actually said that when he came to Indiana and made a point that he wouldn't be stupid enough to do it twice. Boy was I wrong on that one. Stupid is as stupid does.

Me too, I was gullible and thought he'd changed his ways.

Interesting story developing here...

Manhattan coach Steve Masiello never graduated from the University of Kentucky, as indicated on his resume, and his falsifying this information eliminated him from getting the University of South Florida job, multiple sources told ESPN.com on Wednesday.

You know you're a basketball factory when the little white walk-on guard doesn't even get his diploma.

The Marquette Scout.com site is reporting he is a done deal.

Apparently they caused quite the stir and have now recanted their sources. In doing more reading, I didn't realize Marquette has a Top 10 basketball budget in the country yearly. The right coach could have a field day there... surprised Shaka didn't take the job since he has lost a little luster at VCU.

Manhattan: Steve Masiello on leave

NEW YORK -- Manhattan College has placed coach Steve Masiello on leave while he reviews his degree status at the University of Kentucky, the school announced Wednesday.

Masiello had reached an agreement in principle to become coach at South Florida, but the agreement was then terminated after that school conducted a background check.

I find this rather amusing. This dude not only lost his new job but maybe his old one too because he lied on his resume.

Talk about a promising career derailed. He may have to go be an assistant somewhere while he finishes that degree.

IUPUI has a reported "verbal" agreement with Jason Gardner to be the next coach.

Wake Forest apparently making a strong push to hire Chris Mack away from Xavier. Would be the second time Wake Forest hired a Xavier coach (Prosser).

Gardner at IUPUI is not going to be good for us. He is considered one of the up and coming coach/recruiters out there. He is going to sell that program to Indy kids like Howard couldn't.

I doubt Mack heads to Wake. There's some bad blood there between the AD and the Skip Prosser coaching tree.

If for some reason it does happen. Would be the 3rd time a Xavier Coach left to take the head job at Wake.

Reports are that Marquette has hired Steve Wojciechowski from Duke.

With Coach K announcing that he plans to coach another 5 or 6 years, I guess Wojo got tired of waiting.

Never through I'd see him leave K's side. Good for him, though.

Other news and notes from the last few days:

Cal's Mike Montgomery retired.
WSU hired Ernie Bone, former Oregon State coach.
USF has now hired Orlando Antigua, Cals recruiter extrodinaire from Kentucky.
UNC-Wilmington hired Louisville's Keatts.
