Is anyone a little surprised at how little Gregg Marshall's name has been mentioned in any of the high major openings?

Nothing big enough. It will take a big job and a big salary to get him, but as Stevens proved they do exist. However, Wichita is a bigger job than Butler.
 
Well look at it this way. He is in a school with pretty deep pockets. He has the support of Wichita. His income is over 1million $ per year. He has a bretty sweet situation. I don't believe he is looking to leave Wichita State for a better position; I believe he is looking to take the Shockers to a better position. Goodbye Valley; hello big time.

Agreed. I think he stays at WSU a long time and I bet WSU eventually joins the Big East.

No common sense reason for him to leave Wichita but I am surprised we haven't even heard his name mentioned.
 
Anyone surprised Ben Howland is still available? Was thought to be the front runner at Marquette for a bit. Maybe skeletons in his closet? Doesn't make sense that a guy with his resume doesn't have a head coaching gig.

A little surprised, yes. There were some damning reports/articles written about him towards the end of his tenure at UCLA, though. The players apparently hated the guy and he had some minor recruiting issues, as well.

He may feel he deserves a HM job and maybe the only market for him is a MM program.

Tulsa is a tough sell. New conference, but "higher" academic standards than much of the AAC may make it hard to get players there.

They jumped their salary up to $1m per year... at least that is what they offered Manning so I'm sure someone will take it.
 
I wonder if we've seen the big coaching moves this year already or will the floodgates open after the Championship tonight? (Like if Calipari gets an offer he can't refuse to go back to the NBA).
