Would've hated to have had this guy on the team. Gotta stay woke though, even if it means losing. Lansing might have saved his job with a 1st team OVC guy on the team, but no he skinned some cats when he was 17 years old :rolleyes:.

I honestly can’t believe you typed that last sentence. “But no he skinned some cats…”

Enjoy watching him play for another team. He’s not welcome at MY university.

All I'm saying is that we recruit kids all the time that do stupid things. I think everyone we recruit should probably get a pass on the first stupid thing they do. If they make a habit of it (anyone remember Yarborough at Illinois State?) then yeah, it's time to send them down the road.

I watched Wallace play all three years he was at EIU. I actually knew about the cat thing and my nickname for him was "Skinner". With that said he was one of the most fun players I've ever watched and he represented EIU very well. As far as I know he's never been in any kind of trouble since the cat thing when he was a junior in high school. I think he would have been a great pick up for ISU.
Cruelty to animals as a young person is one of the "triads" of a serial killer. Whether that's him or not remains to be seen, but it certainly rises above the level of stupid. And I highly doubt it was the first time he did something like this. People with these issues rarely start with skinning cats. Glad we passed.

Here’s our non-con schedule…without dates and in no particular order…

@Miami Ohio
Northern Illinois
Ball State
North Dakota State
@USI
Green Bay
@Power Five
Non-D1
Three Games Gulf Coast Showcase
Gulf Coast Showcase 2022? That would be good. Had not seen that they had announced the teams yet.

Memory fails me (again)....when does the finalized schedule with dates/times usually get released?

Both IU and Purdue have announced their complete nonconference schedules for this upcoming season. No ISU. In fact no MVC schools at all for either of them.

I hope that the "non-D1" game is actually a D1 game of some kind. There are roughly 350 D1 schools now, and we're also playing two more MVC games, so there are really no excuses for scheduling non-D1's. Honestly, unless I am just super bored and I have absolutely nothing better to do, I don't even bother attending those types of games anymore. They are just a waste of everyone's time.

I'm being dead serious right now; if MVC schools are going to keep scheduling these types of games then let's just all play 22 conference games. An extra home game against an MVC opponent is definitely more exciting for the fans and even the players, than a game against Oakland City. Nothing says Division 1 like playing Oakland City in front of 800 fans. I've seen enough of these games to know that the players couldn't be less interested in these snooze fests.

Non-D1 games are scheduled every year. It's not going to change. Larry Bird played against the likes of Lawrence University and Morris Harvey College in the 78-79 season alone.

The problem is we all got used to Royce being able to bring in IU and Purdue every once in a while. Now, no P6 school will ever come here. The days of seeing a full Hulman Center because we're playing the big boys are over.

Unless things radically change, IU and Purdue (and any other P6 school) will never set foot in Hulman Ctr.
We will have to satisfy ourselves by competing against P6 schools in baseball and football money games.
