I hope that the "non-D1" game is actually a D1 game of some kind. There are roughly 350 D1 schools now, and we're also playing two more MVC games, so there are really no excuses for scheduling non-D1's. Honestly, unless I am just super bored and I have absolutely nothing better to do, I don't even bother attending those types of games anymore. They are just a waste of everyone's time.
I'm being dead serious right now; if MVC schools are going to keep scheduling these types of games then let's just all play 22 conference games. An extra home game against an MVC opponent is definitely more exciting for the fans and even the players, than a game against Oakland City. Nothing says Division 1 like playing Oakland City in front of 800 fans. I've seen enough of these games to know that the players couldn't be less interested in these snooze fests.
