Just threw the team's stats into my spreadsheet to get the first set of PER ratings for the year. Here is the first edition of the Sycamore's pace-adjusted player efficiency rating. Take this first installment for a grain of salt considering as the sample size is small, especially for guys at the end of the bench with limited minutes, but they are off to a good start.

Very clear Avila needs more minutes. What is McKnight's problem?

He was hurt and then sick or vise versa… That set him back.
+
JS built him up in the pre-season rightfully so. Fans heavily read into press clippings.

He has no problem. We’ve had plenty of players especially big men struggle here out of the gates. I’m sure he will have some positive moments. But so far - he’s not been good.

I think the biggest issue Robbie will have this year is post defense. He should be fine offensively and presents a match up nightmare for typical 5's. He will take some lumps on defense because he needs to get stronger and learn how to maintain good position whole being bumped and backed down in the paint. But i look forward to watching him grow into a top of the conference talent!

If anyone is interested Tyreke is averaging 24.5 minutes and 10.8 points. Could have looked better at State.

I see what you did here…

35.59 for the true freshman… Goodness sakes. You couldn’t have dreamed that he would get off to this good of a start could you?! As you know I don’t really watch highlight films and pay too much attention to that hype. So I didn’t have any real expectations - I prefer to sort of form on own. He’s got so much going for him. He finishes the easy shots. He’s got good hands. Moves well without the ball - finds the soft spot in the D - makes himself available. He can share he’s had 2 assists or more in the 4 of the 5 games he’s played more than 10 mins. And then the icing on the cake is the kids shooting 47% from 3. Stop.

Then we talk about our depth… And it’s early and this thing will fluctuate a lot throughout the season but this graphic really illustrates our depth. Cooper, Voss and Kent our 6th, 7th and 8th best players! 😂 That’s sick.

Hopefully we can stay healthy. Not get selfish. Continue to be focused on the game and not the officials as we have the past 3 games.

Lots of dropping as of late. McCauley and Kent rising. Nobody is in the negative anymore... so there's that.

Surprised Stephens has got much run lately. His shooting has taken a step back for sure though. May need to play him next to Robbie some against the Dukes this weekend to help on the boards.

I've been wanting to get Kailex run at the 4 for awhile. The fact he has been as efficient as he has basically playing out of position his whole collegiate career is a testament to his abilities. I'd also love to see him at the 3 some if we every went big with Avila feeding from the high post. I think he could bully most Valley 3s in the paint.

If Neese comes back, then Stephens would have to replace Gibson with that lineup and Henry would be the point.
That's not bad but I would hate to see Kent play less. I just have the feeling that he is going to get better with the experience.
