I think the most overblown portion of all that has to be the musical chairs situation that is now at 19%. I’d bet the players using their 5th year are probably squeezing out most of that 19%. And the others were likely borderline d1 players. I bet that number drops quite a bit in the next couple years when there’s no more 5th year eligibility guys left. I’m not trying to be insensitive to those players but the reality is that the floor level of talent is theoretically rising during this period of extra eligibility. If you didn’t make the cut it’s because somebody that was probably better than you did.

The Horizon League is basically Division 2 quality, so that "upset" isn't too surprising. I'm sure there are years where the GLVC is better top to bottom. I don't know anything about the GLIAC which is where Walsh comes from.

Georgia Southern's arena looks very "D2" with those retractable seats. Obviously the Sun Belt is all in on football.

That is what they've been doing for several years now under Grasso. Him getting arrested is the more interesting strategy -- trying to up his East Coast street cred.
