Watched the Michigan St. -Tennessee game yesterday. Was a great game down to the wire. Michigan St. is a FAST team that we are going to get a real test for our guards. Holloman, Fears, and Hoggard are super quick to the rim and caught TN numerous times in transition with easy layups. They also loved the backdoor for open alleyoops and caught TN sleeping 5 times. Robbie and Vorst are going to get tested inside by their bigman, Sissoko he is a 23yr old monster 6'10" 265 and its all muscle. I like we are getting this test with a top 5 team it should show what we have.

This is interesting. You would think you would want to get your team some zone live bullets before it mattered. Now your first real opponent knows you haven't worked on zone. Unless he secretly wants NMSU to play zone....maybe a little gamesmanship?

I’ve been surprised how JS has made it clear we want to play fast why more opponents have mixed in zone against us until we shoot our way out of it.

I love hearing HCJS talk ball. Coach knows ball.

Did some digging on this. Fox was wanting to create their own separate tournament consisting of 16 teams from the Big 10, Big 12, and Big East that didn't make the NCAA Tournament. This was the counter to that, as the NIT was in danger of becoming a third tier tournament. Very few people watch the NIT, and removing Horizon League type schools in favor of Power schools should increase the TV Ratings. If you don't like it quit watching Power conference schools games.

Scores of note from Tuesday:

IU-69 Florida Gulf Coast-63
Ball State-101 Goshorn-40
Presbyterian-68 Vandy-62
Purdue Fort Wayne-82 DePaul-74

Lipscomb playing Drake tough, without their leading scorer, and they’ve gotten 3 or 4 technicals in only 23 mins

Drake and BU don’t scare me. DeVries is all they have and BU, who that 5’7 PG Deen?

Schertz wanted Overton... was an early offer.

DeVries has done a good job at Drake, but he also has had great talent. Last year they were by far the most talented team in the valley and they didn't even win the regular season. They should of won by a couple games with their roster. Don't know if it was the best coaching job if you ask me.

I just watched tuned in and the first possession i see if DeVries dribbling around at the top of the key and all 4 players are literally standing around the outside, DeVries drives and kicks to Enright who knocks down a 3. If that is there offense, they aint winning anything this year

Yeah DeVries had half the teams points at the 60 pt mark…I get he’s good but he’s got to have a running mate
