Honestly it comes down to most everyone here is sick of paying for losing. Not a dig, not a bitch, not a shot at you Isaac. The program is at a junction right now, keep shelling out for losing AND how the hell you going to pour more money into someplace for them to play? You must either fix current or build new and you yourself said taxpayers shouldn't burdon that, and that is basically where you are in essence either the taxpayers in the long run pay it thru state money or the students pay it through raised fees. Those "Rinky Dink" programs are not facing decaying facilities in the future so they are not eating anything, but very soon the football will. I speak for myself I have nothing against football, for me it comes down to the barrel of the gun this program is looking at with spending and its a good chunk now and soon to be unrealistic with the stadium. It's like if you are not making enough to pay your bills you have a couple of choices, cut something out of the budget, make more money, or suffer when it gets to the point of bein unbearable and that sir is ISU right now. The most logical is cut something out of the budget wouldn't you say? And the biggest gorilla in the room right now is football. again not a shot at you, everyone has opinions sorry but the majority don't fit your opinion, nothing wrong with that, but we are now where something has to be done and I don't think the something is going to be positive for the football program sorry dude.

With all due respect, you, Jason, and most of the others on here aren't "paying anything for losing" (football), because you guys don't show up to anything other than basketball, if you show up at all. Y'all either give Jason $15 or get on here for free and bitch about the program all year for the past 10 years with some fantasy that ISU will start spending $6M a year on the sport y'all like.

Who says Memorial Stadium is going anywhere anytime soon? Just because it's not the most beautiful stadium in the world doesn't mean it's about to crumble to the ground.

Indiana taxpayers paid for the Hulman Center renovation that was around $45M. Don't remember hearing y'all complain about that. Most of y'all on here are all giddy about the freaking county spending $160M on youth sports. VC taxpayers will be even more excited when their taxes go up in the future to pay for something primarily used by out of towners.

Who says ISU can't pay their athletics' bills? They reported making a tiny bit of money overall including on football.

wow - didn't realize you also take/punch/swipe tickets at all football, golf, soccer, swim/dive, baseball, softball, track/field and cross-country events PLUS mbb and wbb games - IMPRESSIVE!

I really doubt you have any idea how many people donate to ISU's VARIED support groups (Foundation, Alumni Association, Varsity Club, CoC) but you be you.

The State of Indiana is NOT going to pay a penny to re-furbish Memorial Stadium -- if there WERE going to, it would have been re-furbished at this point.

Jason, at the end of the day. And on and on. Can we PLEASE stop the cancel football discussion? It’s been hashed and rehashed over and over again.
It’s creating hatred amongst Loyal Sycamore Fans.

Every time someone opens the door, it is going to get talked about. So maybe some of the football "super supporters" should learn how to not continue to walk into said conversation, especially since they are devoid of logic, facts, and football donations.

Go back and look who kicked it off my friend.

Well, if you hate the discussions you know how most of us feel about our football team.

I'll stop complaining the day the bulldozers roll into Memorial Stadium

The arch from the original construction needs to stay, the rest... As some point, a decision will be reached, some will be happy, others not, regardless, many will be sad

SIU seems to have had a few solid pick-ups in the portal. Nagy has been a consistent winner outside of when South Dakota State transitioned to D1 since 1995. They should be in better hands than what they have been in the past 2 decades. The only question mark with Nagy is if he can win at a school in a conference with a ton of parity and he isn't the biggest fish anymore. Overall salukis have reasons to be optimistic

It's the offseason. Here is some light reading on our soon to be ex conference mates

Every day I am increasingly convinced we'll be getting addition by subtraction the moment we don't have to make a yearly trip to Springfield

Dude is about to get a truckload from MSU. Says he still can't stand or really walk because of nerve damage, will be like that the rest of his life. From reading the article is sounds like he stood on a -300° platform because they removed the "safety platform" due to his height. Describes it as his foot could have shattered if they would have hit it with a hammer....insane. The way that MSU handled the situation after also smells extremely fishy.

There are pictures but not released to the public due to grotesqueness. Luckily MSU is swimming in that FBS money now due to that C-USA media deal....

Hope both players receive proper compensation. Feel for them. Ice baths for recovery are fine, but required cryotherapy, come on, not a good idea.
