If this game is going to be played over and over and over again, I'd like to see the leadership of the MVC get serious about playing the game and start raiding other conferences. Go to Dayton and St. Louis and make them an offer they can't refuse. Go to Wichita and do the same. I have no idea what that offer is, but try something. Be the raider for a change instead of just reacting to getting raided. They bring a knife to the fight, we bring a gun. And then change the conference charter to add a fee for leaving the conference, something like $5M or $10M. We just sit on our hands until some perceived "better" conference takes another MVC team.

I'd rather everyone just stop with all this, but if there's going to be a game played, get in and play it.

Wrote this before, but I do not get the concept of jumping up a level for a school which has had little to no success at their present level. Missouri State has had no success in the Valley, in football or basketball; Illinois State not much more.
Like 'em or not but at least you could understand Wichita State moving "up" -- and that hasn't worked out has it ! Creighton has worked out. Loyola ....???
Stupid decisions, by educated people.
Lets sit back and watch Missouri State pack that 11,000 seat arena and put 30,000 fans in their football stadium..........you think ???
Well then, I've got some ocean front property for sale in southern Indiana -- you interested ?

MVC has turned into a pretty nice stable conference. I could see Missouri State leaving for football reasons and Belmont to the A10 but honestly if one of them leaves just keep it at 11, get a true round robin and 20 game schedule and wait until some chips fall and pick a good 12th when it presents itself

Didn’t have time to research first, seems the A10 stuff is just a writer's vision.

There's also a big difference between "X conference has reached out to" and "X conference is seriously considering".

Look at how the Big XII played San Diego State, used them as a bargaining chip to get better deals from the Pac newcomers and SDSU had to slink back to the MW.

Also, I love this Drake fan on Twitter saying their low attendance is due to them being "stuck in the Valley".

My brother in Christ, do you think you're going to get traveling fans from VCU or Dayton or Fordham?

If I'm Illinois State or even Southern Illinois I'm jumping all over the MAC if they'll accept me; especially if Western Kentucky is coming along. It's too bad we aren't in a position to be realigned with our historic rivals Ball State.

It gets them into a conference with all like minded members, including in-state school Northern Illinois.

Yet the MAC just raided a conference that raided the MVC. The MAC wouldn't even consider ISU in its current state, so if the MAC is so awful then what does that say about ISU?
Why would we want to be in the MAC? So we can spend even more on football and have even less success and return on investment, and then have the added benefit of playing in a worse basketball conference?

Maybe we can play in one of those Tuesday night football games that no one watches #MACtion 🤮

Hard pass

The MAC has nothing to offer us.

ISU’s current state… 2 MVC Titles in Indoor Track. Coming off a Title in Baseball and on a path to be in the conversation again. On a path to winning the MVC Basketball Championship.

Let that sink in. Only program that annually doesn’t perform - football. You guessed it.

Does it really matter that they're slightly worse in basketball? The MVC isn't exactly stellar in basketball anymore either. We could end up with 28 wins and still not make the tournament. That's why schools like Missouri State and Illinois State have somewhat been flirting with the idea of moving on at some point.

Cooper Schwieger not starting tonight for Valpo due to illness.

I didn't think they'd put up much of a fight for UNI anyway, now it seems academic.

Because the MAC gets multiple bids to the NCAA Tournament???
