TERRE HAUTE, Ind. - Indiana State University alumni Charlie and Terri Lentz have generously made a gift through their estate plan to the women's basketball program in support of advancing the development of student-athletes and enhancing the team's resources to achieve excellence on the court and in the classroom.

Charlie graduated in 1965 from Indiana State with a bachelor's degree in physical education and social studies, and Terri graduated in 1966 with a bachelor's degree in English and social studies.
After graduating, Charlie began his career as a high school teacher and a basketball coach for several years before switching career paths to real estate with a focus on real property appraisal. He was awarded the MAI designation by the Appraisal Institute. He continued his dedication for education by teaching for the Appraisal Institute and for a local college throughout his career. He retired in 2013 after becoming a principal in a commercial appraisal company based out of Florida.

Terri spent her career in education, serving as an English and reading teacher for 46 years in Indiana and Florida. She became a National Board-Certified Teacher and was part of a small group that was among the first to achieve this designation in Orange County schools. She spent her final years of teaching in the Hospital Homebound program in the Orange County, Florida public school system, which she considered the most rewarding time of her career.

"We hope this gift will make it easier for the women's basketball team to achieve success, whether that be through scholarships or other programming necessities," said Charlie Lentz. "Many of the resources that are available today for students weren't available when we were in school, so we wanted to contribute toward expanding opportunities for current and future students. We've been immensely blessed, and we hope others who have experienced that fortune would consider paying it forward."

Four of our best women’s players are in the portal - Secrest, Stahl, Finnegan and one other. That program is going to struggle for several years…..

Honestly it's impressive to watch the domino effect that hiring Vicki Hall had on this program.

I don't envy Coach Mitchell, or anyone who has this job in the future, and the work he has cut out himself.

Why wait ... put the coach in the portal too. This program will be worse than football ever was until a change is made. Some rumors I have heard is that he can likely be dismissed for cause. If not buy him out however painful it will be.

Clink should have listened to me. The coach I told him to hire had Michigan State ranked this year. :ROFLMAO: But just ignore me. I get it, hire your friend from high school. Lol!!!
She was good enough to have gotten hired away from us by now anyway, but it's still damn sure the program would be in a better state

Why does it seem like the softball and WBB coaches have issues for us. Hell you can throw in that one soccer coach from a few years ago.

We keep hiring Gregg Marshall's. Except they don't win, not a good combo

Okay I've done some investigating into this whole situation and here is just what I've found out so far. I've talked to multiple season ticket holders, 4 different players parents and several players.

* On day 1 when Coach Mitchell meet the team for the first time this is what he told the girls. He came flat out and told them none of them would be here after the season was over. They were not "his players" and he didn't want them in his program.

* There have been 2 Title 9 complaints against him. One of them was for sexual harassment.
* None of the players were allowed to talk to recruits when they visited.
* Almost EVERY single player and parent has went to Nathan Christensen and Mike Godard and there has been no action.
* At least one starter was told by Coach Mitchell that he would contact any possible team she was interested in transferring to and put in a bad word about her.

Again, this is just their words, and I have no way of verifying any of it officially except for what I was told by several players and parents. Whatever is the issue there is clearly something going on here within this program. I was also told by one player that the team didn't care wither they won or lost because they were hoping a bad season would get the Coach fired. Now like others I HATE hearing this from ANY player regardless of the situation.

Why would you tell them they won't be in the program this year and then jeopardize the transfer for next year? So insane....but I've heard this from some of the other sport female athletes.

There are 2 ways I'm looking at this. Yes, he told them up front that they wouldn't be back....which in my mind is dumb. They all got mad about it, which i can understand and it lead to a toxic environment where everyone was just mad at everyone else and it blew out of porportion Or....He's a jackass who doesn't know how to handle being in charge of a women's team and is an awful leader. Either way, not looking good for his character as a head coach.

Didn't the one player he did actually bring with him end up leaving suddenly before the season even started?

Sounds like he's not any better with "his players"

I'll be honest, I haven't followed the women's team since Coach Wiedie left. I just check scores and see how their season is going occasuonally through the year.

This is the 7th women’s coach two volleyball, two soccer and now the third women’s coach in a row to have title IX and or outside law enforcement brought in.
