The initial news break I saw only mentioned NIU, not Toledo. I agree that Toledo would be a better add then NIU if they're on the table. I saw someone say their 10 year average ranking would have put them 2nd best in the MVC over that span, the rest of the MAC just drags them down. Not to mention they would be a new market that gets us on Bally Sports Ohio.NIU has been one of the bottom D1 programs for awhile. I don’t see the MVC being interested at all.
Toledo is way ahead of NIU in everything relating to MBB. The MVC would likely prioritize them.
That would be a perfect fit to join the Valley in all sports except footballNIU has been one of the bottom D1 programs for awhile. I don’t see the MVC being interested at all.

Rather have Northern Kentucky over NIU.The initial news break I saw only mentioned NIU, not Toledo. I agree that Toledo would be a better add then NIU if they're on the table. Eh, I don't know if the media deal makes up for the absolute money pit that is FBS football. Out of all potential adds Toledo checks off a lot of boxes and would be a solid addition from an athletic and travel standpoint. My biggest gripe would be the stability of a basketball conference that would feature:Really not interested in letting a team that may potentially get a decently sized media deal out of their football conference into the MVC for hoops.

Private non football (3)
Private non scholarship football (2)
Public non football (1)
Public FCS (5)
Public FBS (1)
Tough decision if Toledo is made available
A good percentage of that money will probably go to upgrading their facilities for football.Really not interested in letting a team that may potentially get a decently sized media deal out of their football conference into the MVC for hoops.
If this were to happen this would be the 3rd Newcomer of the year in a row.
