Producing anything ourselves means zero profit, unless you have a large donor willing to pony up money to get a bunch of other mid-majors no ones heard of to travel to TH in late November, which we don't have. Can we not produce it ourselves streaming on E+?
Playing at Duke makes me wonder. Would you trade a win at Cameron Indoor for a winless conference season? Similar to UE beating Kentucky then going winless in the MVC. I have no idea what I would chooseWell, only 3 MVC teams left that are not attached to an MTE. Trees, Belmont and SIU.
Bradley--Disney World over Thanksgiving
Drake--Destin over Thanksgiving
Evansville--USVI Paradise Jam week before Thanksgiving
ILSU--Disney World over Thanksgiving (separate bracket from BU)
Murray--Cayman Islands week before Thanksgiving
UNI--Palm Springs over Thanksgiving
UIC--Daytona Beach in November
Valpo--Kentucky/Rupp Arena MTE in November
Being an ISU alum and fan has taken all of us to some cool places. My trip to the Diamondhead Classic in Hawaii was one of the best vacations ever. I know MMs in tropical, high-profile MTE's are certainly harder to come by but ISU's peer institutions are still getting some very nice destinations this year. I'm not going to complain too much if ISU doesn't get a good one this year though....we all have an excuse to go to Cameron Indoor in November if we can get tickets....that's as good as any tropical destination if you ask me! Really, really good get by HCMG/his staff/ISU Athletics.
Hmmmmmm. Well fortunately either pick won’t come with the lubricious distractions UE had. And there’s a reason Bob Knight went into the ISU locker room after the 1999 Indiana Classic upset and implored the Trees “don’t make this your season.” He knew many small/MM schools hang their hat on a P5 upset in the non-con and forget they have the rest of the season to play.Playing at Duke makes me wonder. Many different answers. Things im not trading a win at Cameron for: MVC reg title or Tournament title.Playing at Duke makes me wonder. That "Indiana State Effect" is realthe only seats I have found are on the secondary market and they are $500+ a ticket.
It’s just about the experience. No one expects us to win.IM offering ISU and 22 Points for $20! Who wants that action? First to answer gets it. Duke has WAY too much returning, the Boozer twins coming in, and playing at one of the toughest arenas to play for our first year together roster to have a good showing. A MM Tourn would have been more enjoyable for us. Not crumbing on our team but this is way out of our capabilities.

crazyI'd trade beating IU in football for an 0-20 MVC basketball season, but I'll pass on Duke.
Not crazy. Beating a nationally ranked IU football team fresh off of a CFP appearance would be the biggest win the school has had since beating Depaul in the Final 4. That one win would draw the school more publicity than the NIT Team did the entire season, as we'd be the talk of the entire CFB world. There's a reason CFB is 85% of a conference's value when they sign a TV deal, despite the fact that football only plays a third of the games that basketball does.crazy
falseNot crazy.
How many nationally ranked wins does our basketball team have since 1979? I'm not going to count. Hell we've beaten a ranked ND team @ ND, a ranked Butler squad in Hulman, and shellacked IU during in assembly hall during a very anticipated coaching debut. But you are also forgetting big wins in 2000 & 2011 to make the NCAA tournament. Big wins in 2001 & 2024 to win the MVC reg title. Oklahoma in the NCAA tournament. You are also forgetting the baseball has been to a college World Series in that time span as well, could even make an argument the 3-0 regional appearance by our baseball team a few years ago would be bigger than beating IU in football.Beating a nationally ranked IU football team fresh off of a CFP appearance would be the biggest win the school has had since beating Depaul in the Final 4.
You do realize we were probably the most talked about college basketball team of the 2023-24 season? So you are trying to tell me one college football win during week 1 would generate more talk than the most talked about college basketball team of the season? get out of here. That one win would draw the school more publicity than the NIT Team did the entire season
We wouldn't be the talk of the CFB world, IU would be the talk of the CFB world for a week and how last year was a fluke and how they will probably go back to the cellar where they have been FOREVER.as we'd be the talk of the entire CFB world.
IU football is one of the worst programs in America. They had a good season last year; yes, but they are one of the worst programs and is providing no value to the B10 in football. On the other hand Duke basketball is the biggest brand in college basketball with the biggest budget and with the most value in the country....There's a reason CFB is 85% of a conference's value when they sign a TV deal, despite the fact that football only plays a third of the games that basketball does.
ISU could win the FCS title and it still wouldn't be as important as the 2000 or 2001 hoops teams, probably under the recent baseball Super Regional team, and probably on par with the 2011 NCAA or recent NIT basketball teams. Let's cool it juuuuust a bit.Not crazy. Beating a nationally ranked IU football team fresh off of a CFP appearance would be the biggest win the school has had since beating Depaul in the Final 4. SIU has beat FBS teams in 2023 and 2022...one of them being over a Big 10 team. It didn't exactly give them a ton of publicity. Every year, 5+ FCS teams beat FBS teams, and usually there's 1-2 P4 teams that lose. Montana beat a ranked Washington team in 2021...not some huge institution shifting win.
Have to imagine ISU get a section of tix for Duke game. I am planning to go (already have plane tickets)
not sure, planned to reach out in August for ticket info from someone at ISU.Do we know this? I've seen resale tix going quick so I'm hesitant to wait but I do know they have a visitor section right behind the bench.
