At least four of those schools aren’t mid majors. Gonzaga hasn’t operated as anything remotely close to a mid major in 15+ years.

I watched the replay of Northwestern's close loss on the road at #16 Iowa State in an 'exhibition' game. It was a rugged contest and Northwestern has some pieces that can play.
I expect the Wildcats have an NIL budget that will keep them in the game for top players going forward.

Saint Mary's has to be desperate to get into the new PAC12 with Gonzaga at this point
I don't think so knowing they will win the WCC every season until they think it's time to move on. But this does raise the question does St Thomas decide to join Denver as a travel partner. That would pull them away from being a potential add to the MVC.
The WCC minus Gonzaga plus Denver and UC San Diego moves it from a perennial 2+ bid league where you can get an at-large in the 5-9 range to a league where winning the regular season and tournament will get Saint Mary's a 12/13 seed going forward.
Their chances of getting a Randy Bennett replacement that is at his talent level and will stay long term will also take a massive hit.
