I was glad Miami lost because it should result in two teams from the MAC but I was really hoping it would be in the finals.

The committee is probably thrilled though since they are dying to leave them out and now have the perfect excuse

but does it have the same "charm" as the Indiana State Fairgrounds Coliseum / Pepsi Coliseum / Fairgrounds Coliseum / Corteva Coliseum?

No, absolutely not as your odds of getting shanked decrease by 99.44%. That was the charm you were talking about, right?

I loved watching the Indy Fuel Hockey Team at the Coliseum for ten years, and I thought when we played IUPUI there the first year of the renovation it was a decent basketball venue. The renovation made the seats a lot closer to the action in comparison to the old ABA Pacer days. However, I hated GOING to the coliseum. There were always shows and exhibitions that took all the good parking spaces. Hockey fans were delegated to the outer spaces beyond the fourth turn of the mile track. Or worse we were directed to park in the infield of the mile track and forced to walk through the mud and under the pedestrian underpass which was often covered with ice. Security was also nasty to deal with. Anyone bringing in a purse an inch too large or medicine were denied entry. No warnings, no place to store necessary items for fans. You had to make the long walk back to your car in the cold to leave stuff that didn't pass muster. And they were rude about it. With all the money they made off the Fuel and the shows, very little was put back into the upkeep of the State Fairgrounds. If you want to see great Fair Facilities, go to Oklahoma City or West Allis Wisconsin. In my humble opinion, the Indiana State Fairgrounds is an embarrassment to the State of Indiana. Good riddance to them.

Sure -- we'll call it that... I think the last time I was on Fairgrounds property was the late 80s, early 90s but I'll be damned if I rememeber WHY I was there!

I was tracking that Noblesville had built this new facility but couldn't find it without WAZE telling me the way

Sounds like that security team learned from ISU's Hulman ushers (during my student years...) I'm betting that security team also work as TSA agent at Indy International

What is the solution to the "but they didn't play anyone" problem? Is there one? Most teams don't want to play good mid majors. If you look at the Red Hawks schedule the last several years, they've played at least 1 P4 team. Then last year they made the mistake of going 25-9 and suddenly this year their schedule is dookie....gee. I wish mid majors were organized in some way and put P4 teams on blast by making it public who they made a good faith effort to schedule. Unless Miami didn't try to schedule anyone they shouldn't be killed because they suddenly can't get anyone to play them.

Here's my solution to the problem.

1) If you go undefeated in your conference during the regular season you get an automatic bid period. I don't care what your record was in the non-conference. You go 18-0 or 20-0 in your conference you get an automatic bid, no questions asked.

2) If you don't have a winning conference record during the regular season, you don't make the tournament unless you win the conference tournament. I don't care how good your conference is, all you've done all season is prove that you consistently LOSE to good teams.

In the one Miami Ohio game I watched this year, the announcer's stated that Travis Steele called & unsuccessfully attempted to schedule 84 higher ranked D1 teams. 8-4!

I like your idea of public shaming. Required 'scheduling parity' (not my original idea) would also be helpful.

It’s a win-win-win-win situation for the P4s.

-They don’t give quality mid-majors a SOS boost
-they don’t risk losing to a quality MM which hurts their resume.
-they don’t risk a quality MM getting in at-large discussion with a win, which would take away a spot for them
- come selection Sunday they can say “they didn’t play anyone”

That's why I wish mid majors had a voice. Someone needs to go back at these studio guys and challenge them on that on these shows or on social media. Sad thing is if Miami gets in I'd almost be money the committee gives them the ole 2014 Shocker treatment.

At least they'll have home court advantage since Oxford is right down the road from Dayton (assuming they make it). I don't put anything past the committee, but I'd honestly be shocked if they don't make it in some fashion. I'm kind of glad Miami lost when they did just so we can find out how bad the committee actually sucks though. That and Akron has only lost 5 games all year, so if they can win the MAC AQ they'll be another tough mid major in the field.
