Fair enough, I guess I’m not really arguing why they are picked to win the valley (they should be or at least top 2) but it just seems like they are way overhyped nationally, especially with what they have done the last 2-3 years.

Part of it is some bias as I really can’t stand ILSU. Always seemed like an entitled fanbase, program, school for not really doing anything to back it up. Just seems like they are having the championship parade already. I’d rather see any team in the valley win besides them at this point.
You change schools then that school stills get the hype. I understand you not liking ILST though. Also it's preseason so it doesn't mean anything especially if they don't back it up.

I guess while not really the same, this year in college football Texas and Penn State were expected to be the top contenders due to who they were returning last year. 6 weeks later Penn States coach is fired and Texas is barely clinging to the top 25.

Case in point, preseason rankings shouldn't mean much.

Edit: I completely forgot about Clemson too lol (unranked).

Wonder if Jay Tunnell has any eligibility left - just suit him up for the IL State games
Someone needs to make a video like this of the “Cooper Neese Game” from a Few years ago. We as a fanbase have an obligation to not let that performance die. One of the guttiest, clutch, big balls, do or die, etc. athletic displays I’ve ever seen. Heart broke for him when we came up just short against Bradley the next day

It doesn't really matter what anyone in this league wins this upcoming season unless it's on March 8th. I doubt Illinois State will win the conference this year and even if they do they've probably choked on Sunday the most of any current Valley team.

Question: Does the Valley on ESPN effort available on the ESPN App mean that the games previously always available on ESPN+ will now be blocked from streaming easily to my TV?

If yes, this is a major step backward for the Valley in terms of easy access and visibility.

I mean, I'm not an official Valley voice, but I'm certain the answer is no. Take a look at the PDF, every game is available on ESPN+.

Athletic fatigue is starting to set in.

I understand the argument of not wanting to risk injury but if you are ILSU you have proved nothing yet and only get a couple opportunities EVER at big brother…and you punt. In a day and age where boosters who want to be entertained and be prideful of their school are literally shelling out hundreds of thousands of dollars for you to play….you sit out.

This isn’t necessarily aimed directly at ILSU but I am so sick of athletes just not playing. Post season, pre season, whatever. I’m just sick of it

I get this and agree with you, but on the other hand if our Duke game was just an exhibition game, I'd be more than ok with Harding, Vorst, Wagner, etc sitting out and not risking injury.

Now if Illinois would ever play ISU Red for real and their top guys sit out, thats a different story.
