Now if Illinois would ever play ISU Red for real and their top guys sit out, thats a different story.

I get it but there is also the underlying tone of the hype that ILSU has and is on the same floor as Illinois.

That would be like the 2023-24 sycamore having any shot at IU that year. You have to take it. Even if it is just an exhibition

Xavier has a new coach and new players. Hard to really gage that. Maybe Murray won’t suck. But I’m still in the you got to prove it stage.

I hear you but in all honest everyone in the league is in the "prove it stage" outside of maybe UNI and I'm not too sure their roster is is top 3 in the league. They just have the BJ factor as usual.

Should be a real fun season this year

It's ridiculous. They talk about wanting to provided the best student athlete experience.

As a mid-major league, we've had two Final Four teams in the past 10 years and we've resorted to virtual media days and half-hearted pre-season picks.

Hmmmm…new commissioner comes from P5 league. MVC suddenly looking like a poverty league. Correlation doesn’t necessarily equal causation, but…

Love me a good conspiracy theory!!!
 
I think even the Summit and Horizon leagues have in-person media days.

We also elected not to release a pre-season all conference team, and they only provided the preseason rankings 1-5. Why, I have no idea. Not sure who they're protecting or what monetary savings may comem from half-assing all of this, but it's not making the MVC look very bigtime.

the no preseason team and only releasing 1-5 rankings is sssooooo small time

Meh -- Jackson is a Ivy League grad, split his time between non-P5 and P5 ass't jobs; his two HC gigs were mid-major stops; his P5 gigs were U$C (1-yr), $tanford 4-yrs and Vandy for 8... his admin time was split as well between non-P5 and P5 (though the B12 isn't the P2 of the $ec and Big 18
 
Without checking on the phone or computer, can anyone tell me the Pre-Season First Team All Conference Teams for the Big Ten & SEC?
