Almost all of the big deals I've seen ended up with the kid getting like 20-50% of what was reported.
Ya! I can’t imagine Swoop getting 200k. Conwell 500k? That’s just over the top. Robbie I can see 200k, but the rest of the guys, that’s hard to believe. Although Texas has a shit load of money.

Conwell was the best player on our team. He's worth more than all the others. Don't know what he got at Xavier, but he should have gotten more than the others.

Another thing in the NIL landscape we don’t think about and applies to the former players is what are they being paid outside of the schools NIL money. What I mean is the Caddy Robbie is driving was not paid for by NIL money it was negotiated with a local car dealer for “Promotional” work. So if Dorrsett Auto in Terre Haute give Camp an SUV for being able to use him as promotion it does not come out of our crossroads money. The number tossed around here in Evansville was Swope was getting right at $100k from the school and near double that from “outside ventures”. Robbie was higher obviously. Also look up the University of Utah and look at their athletic agreement with a Dodge/Jeep dealer alum who is giving ALL their athletes a free lease for their choice of a Dodge Ram or a Jeep Cherokee. Interesting read, google it.

Matter of time before someone buys All Wright also. No tears here.

Yeah All is gone for sure…

Tears here though, college basketball is dead to me. I hated going through it with our team last year - I’m not going to rejoice in others suffering our same fate. That’s a lose lose for me. Hate that for Valpo or any other mid tbh. College basketball during the NIL era changed for me - went from something I love to something I could care less about beyond InState.

I still absolutely love Indiana State and I want us to be successful and hate when we lose. What has changed for me is the connection to players. We've likely seen the end of Julian Larry's in Sycamore blue....you know, the guys you love to cheer for because you've watched them grow and improve and stay committed to your school. The new era has eroded some/ a lot of the human connection to Fandom.

Yup it'll be the slow death of college athletics. We as fans take pride in the programs accomplishments but we connect and rally around the players and when they are gone we hold on to their legacy. Neese, Key, Barnes, Scott, Odum, Marshall, Richards, Carter, Menser, Renn, Green, Bird, Nicks, etc. the list goes on and on of players that came through the program and left their legacy that fans hold on too. What's going to happen to this beautiful sport after 20 years of no 1000 point scorers? No walk-ons that stick around to earn a scholly and contribute? No local kid that leads the program to the promise land and sticks around to be a legend? No player that stuck out 4-5 years in a program for one weekend in March and gives EVERYTHING he has to try and make his dream a reality?

It's going to be the slow death of college sports

Quimari Peterson on the move again
Averaged 19/4/4. Shot 40+% from 3 this year. 6'1". 1 year eligibility. Haven't seen game film, but like the stats. Wish he had 2 years remaining.

Crazy to think that eventually ISU will have a player transfer out & transfer back via portal.

Conwell had 38 today at Madison Square Garden. He's getting a ton of money somewhere besides Xavier next year.

I think Drake has really opened up eyes this season. Seeing a lot more of the transfer portal posters post about D2 transfers.

Honestly, I hope we give some looks that way. I would personally prefer someone from D2 who could average 15+ a game, versus a D1 transfer who either didnt see big playing time or didnt impress enough to transfer out.
