I think we go with 13. With 5 FR, 15 would be too long of a bench unless 14 and 15 are better than the FR. I doubt that we can get that many quality players and you want to "pay" for the top 9.
Not really. You can have 15 with walkons. What are you developing for--the portal? No. You need practice bodies, development bodies and there is always "what if." I'd immediately call for Graves firing if they did this because it tells me he cannot manage a program, roster and the associated risks.

Sorry. It doesn't work that way. You think a bigger roster will win games? It hasn't helped in he past, unless you can name one.To fucking win ball games.
Sorry. It doesn't work that way.
We have had some good #13's like Martin, Shetlar and Peterson. Then close down the program.
If you think a professional staff cannot identify an extra 2 scholarship athletes versus offering 2 players walk-on spots, what are we even doing here? This is some mental midget math.
LOL he literally said what are you developing for. I just don't understand why folks don't see the value in being great at player development. Believe it or not some dudes will actually stay longer than they otherwise would b/c they know they're getting better. Its the same in the occupation of college hoops as it is in every other industry. To fucking win ball games.
Right. I agree. Development is good. Like we developed Swope, Avila, Kent, Larry and Conwell. Louisville, Texas and St Louis send us their appreciation.LOL he literally said what are you developing for. @Jason Svoboda you have to remember, Sycamorebacker watched the movie Hoosiers this weekend and was one of only a few on here alive when Milan won the state championship, they both only had 6 players! To fucking win ball games.
Good idea. I would like to know who on here were alive in '54. I know there are several other old codgers on here.@Jason Svoboda you have to remember, Sycamorebacker watched the movie Hoosiers this weekend and was one of only a few on here alive when Milan won the state championship, they both only had 6 players!![]()

You think I said that?
Was that last sentence a personal attack?
I can remember when during timeout, the five players went to the free throw circle. You had a cart the manager roll out to the team with towels in it. Coach would put a note with instructions into the captain’s towel. I can remember when if you were fouled, you shoot it or take the ball out. I could go one but I will stop.Good idea. I would like to know who on here were alive in '54. I know there are several other old codgers on here.
I would like to form the Milan club so know you are talking to someone with experience.
If they are like me they are sick of the pushing, travel, and 3 seconds rules being thrown out of the book.
I think Milan had 12 players.
We just have a fundamental disagreement about how much the 14th and 15th player help. And I know that one of them could exceed your expectations. But when we were allowed 13, I don't remember not having enough players, except maybe in practice. No, it was in relation to your logic. You said you would rather have 13 scholarship players and 2 walk-ons over 15 scholarship players.
It's bad math. The kind of math that gets you fired from your last college basketball head coach opportunity.
If you don't want to maximize every potential opportunity that is at your disposal as a coach that is now 25-39 at Indiana State and 65-96 overall, then you are not long for this profession.
FIRE. EVERY. BULLET.
