Luke had 54 points in a 93-59 win over Daleville tonight. The sophomore record for Indiana high school boys is 60, so he was close.

The Governor of Indiana was at their game tonight and interviewed on the Blackford Sports Network at halftime.

Luke also picked up an offer from Iona this week
I hope he doesn't get injured chasing records. They ran a full court press up 40 in the 4th. The county Sherrif should have stopped the game after the 3td qtr and sent everyone home as it was so brutal. I heard no Blackford team has ever put up 100 points in a game and the Sophmore record for points is 60. I pity the Anderson Academy which they play down the road.

I have seen a coach going for points and'/or individualrecords lose good players to injury several times. It's always the kid who pays for a coach's bad judgement.

This kid has local ties. He is the nephew of a West Terre Haute couple. Are we even looking at him (other than some fans) ??

good question, but we should be, kid is legit, might not be a high major player? Who knows, but would excel at the mid major level for sure

Unfortunately they got an awful draw in their sectional, they drew a bye, but then get to play undefeated and #1 ranked Delta in the New Castle sectional, so they'll be one and done more than likely in the 3A field

Next year they will be 2A and play more even teams

Luke Brown and Blackford ran into undefeated Delta in their first game in the Sectional at New Castle, in front of over 10,000 people Delta won easily by almost 30 points. It was a classic mismatch. Next year Blackford drops down to 2A and should be more competitive.

This kid got a Ball State offer today.

Not shocked, Ball State will probably recruit him very hard as Blackford is close to there, if he lands at BSU that will increase their attendance at home games by quite a bit

update on Luke Brown from the Indy Star, doesn't appear we're going after him at this point, however assuming this is Lansing's last season I'd suspect our new coach will go after him next summer.

He has a lot of interest from other MVC schools, as well as Purdue and Ball State, holds 2 offers at this point.

I don’t think I would assume this will be Lansing’s last year. I’m hearing positive things around the program right now.

You really gotta consider the source... "Assumes" Lansing is gone and "suspects" that our new coach is going after him... Just throwing bull shit into the air and seeing if something sticks. Beyond being a Luke Brown Fan Boy - he's been hopelessly complaining about Lansing for months on end.

I think I might cheer for Lansing harder than ever just in-spite of certain people and the attitude they have. It's pretty fair to have a salty opinion about him and where he has taken the program the last several years. Like - to feel that way is pretty justified. We've talked about all the "excuses" Lansing has to why this might have happened - so I will not bore anyone with that conversation again.

I just really have to wonder - at what point do people come to the realization that he's still our coach and the "excuses" that I failed to mention above are largely the reason he's still our coach - not the deplorable record that you all want to point to that isn't really that deplorable in the grand scheme of things. So why not just put your emotion of not wanting him to be our coach to the side for the next 9 months or so and see how things go?? Then next February/March/April we can re-visit this whole thing and see what happens? I mean - this idea that shit-canning is fine if he's got unlimited resources and performing the way he has or he's doing something illegal these scenarios go on and on and on... But you can't just shit-can a coach - keep all other things around him that help the program be successful or not in the first place the same and think things will change... I assure you they will not and we will be right back to having this same conversation 10 years down the road.

All I'm trying to say - we know that many of you want Lansing gone. You're justified to feel that way - no one is denying you of the right or even the cause to feel that way. We've discussed it over and over again - can we just leave that out of the narrative and enjoy the off-season and season for a few months? If not and you really just want to belly-ache about Lansing in every possible thread then why not just go be a Southern IL fan or some other fan that is really experienced at hiring and firing coaches - maybe that is a better environment for you as a fan!

Good job. Much more verbose and politely than I would have said it.

Lansing or his wife must have hired a PR firm; kinda like a campaign for the Heisman ...... lol. HE'S BEEN SOMETHING FOR THE LAST 5 YEARS HASN'T HE?

For comparison, Waltman won 21 MVC games his last 5 yrs with Moss as our leading scorer for 4 of the years.
Lansing has won 39 in the last 5 years. He won 19 in two years with Brown as our leading scorer.
