Great interview with an honest perspective. Let's pick up our cleats clean the mud off and get back to work. I think we should be holding our heads high. There was a lot of good things to take from the game and I believe Coach has us heading in the right direction.

I know im late on this and havent read everything but the way I look at it is would we have played Penn St if Eastern IL would have offered us 400k to play there?

He might not have been trying to but he did. He's been talking about the pay day all day. I think what its done is allow us to forget what the point in playing the game in the first place is. I don't want to debaye the reasons a pay game like this makes sense for us, because I agree with them. But let's not forget why you play the game, at the end of the day a loss is a loss and a win is a win. I play (who ever I'm playing) to win... Anything less than that? Well....
Yes, he certainly seemed fixated on the pay aspect of it. Personally, I think that was a little disrespectful to the guys that suited up this past Saturday. I would have preferred he focused on the game, the exposure and the experience rather than the pay day.

He made some comments this evening on Twitter about recruiting that made my head spin. I was unaware that we dominated the last decade in the Valley. Recruiting is the lifeblood of your program and the better players you can get, the better off your program is likely to be. I'm not sure how this is even debatable.

I agree with everything said so far except that people had unrealistic expectations.....I was expecting a better showing from our offense which cause our D to look like they gave up more points...Our D did their Job...that opening kickoff...three turnovers on offense and a couple in our own redzone while you are away at a big school...If our QB is getting looks from the NFL...an our TE is getting looks from the NFL...or our WR.....and our FB...we should have sustained drives...If our D can stop their O a few times or at least slow them down...we should have been able to sustain drives...I thought our DB's did a good job on moye...he is an all big ten reciever and he was fairly quiet...youngstown played michigan st evenly and the difference was youngstown made mistakes...michigan st ranked 17....and we are suppose to be better than youngstown this year...I think after the kickoff return and we went three and out and they scored...our kids were beat....instead of comparing ourselves to the fcs schools who didn't have a good showing we should look at the few who did and find out what happened.....just my opinion...I know the scholarships is a big deal and i am not downplaying that....but you can only put 11 on the field at a time...if we have all these seniors who have been at the college level for four or five years should never be completely shut down like that....think...maybe when the penn state guys were freshmen...they were better FB players than our guys...but after five years of college...with hard work...the first 11 we both put on the field shouldn't be outmatched like that...I like the cincy game last year....that is how it is suppose to be...we started wearing out...that should be the difference...not to get mauled on the line of scrimmage like that...hardy, and young, are 300 pounders...obaseki a beast...nobody should drive them ten yds off the ball...nobody....there were times these guys were in the backfield making plays behind the line of scrimmage...then the next plays...they were getting driven back....the only thing I can believe is that they took some plays off....if you are senior and you have big good size...and you line up against a guy an he mauls you...it isn't because you are outclassed or because he plays at penn state...or because he is better...it is because he worked harder than you did...period...if we had a bunch of sophmores I would understand..I just don't think it should have been that big of a difference...I think penn st even took it easy in the second half...

Biggest issue for me offensively was that one of our linemen seemed to get beat on every play...not one in particular but just never really created a comfortable pocket for Ronnie

I think that plus I think our recievers ran lazy routes too many times...just because the D sits on your routes doesn't mean you give up on them or try to make a play...penn state D is nasty but I just expected a little more competition on O...
