Did you see Keefer's comments? What a horrible person.

If a kid is struggling with his class work, the coach has to help as much as possible, not just back away and then say later that he just didn't want to work at it. Maybe I'm wrong. Maybe he was more involved, but it doesn't sound like it.

Now if karma would just play the same trick with Ohio State.

I liked it better when...

Indiana had a one-class system, it was perfection. Why mess with it?

Head Coaches had to be a teacher; granted our HC in HS taught typing or Drivers Ed or Health/PE but they were a teacher.

Maybe it was just a shell game but I felt it was better than the 'dean of students' positions or Ass't AD or shoot ADs that coach now.

I think that there might have been a problem with the IHSAA and Ferguson's age. I believe he was quite a bit older than the normal high school kid also. I never was a big LN fan having been in the same confrence as them in HS. It was always a treat seeing them get beat in basketball.

Doesn't surprise with Keefer. I'm not going to get into it, but he was disrespectful to me in regards to his basketball camp.

i know that pat rady....

almost boycotted his game at lawrence north the first year that oden was there.....because he was so mad about lawrence nrtoh stealing away at least three of his players......

I only watched Lawrence North one year when they had Greg Oden and Mike Conley Jr. on their senior season. I would have never thought that LN would ever lose a player as good of teams that they have had in this decade.

It seems to me that most coaches, not on his staff or close personal friends, find him to be something akin to the north end of a south bound horse.:censored:

Pat Rady is a joke.... Absolute joke, he had teams capable of winning state on several different occasions and could never get the job done. They had some excellent talent at that school in the 90s... Tell me I am wrong Tom? I played for him and his son - you don't have that perspective...

morgan...since pat is a friend of mine....lol...

and his son too....i'll plead the fifth....lol.....he sure is loved at north putnam and cloverdale though....i drove through bainbridge a couple of weeks ago...and stopped for gas on pat rady drive....lol.....

Tom that is great that you are friends with him, my former coach at Terre Haute South Frank Jovi whom I still keep in close contact with is really good friends with Rady Sr. as well. However this does not mean that I am going to come on here and defend them. High School Hoops was so darn political when I was at THS, just because my dad raised me right and taught me to fend for myself by working hard and being hard nosed "my dad was not the type of guy to go in and fight my own battles" he let me take care of that.... Prolly part of the reason my life has been so successful "in my own eyes of course".

Morgan what is the purpose of this post? Tom did not say that Pat Rady was a great coach or even a good coach nothing was said about his coaching ability and the thread is not about Pat Rady, so why post something negative like this about the man? Why not just keep your negativity to yourself and move on. It is obvious that you carry grudges against multiple people.

Ok fair enough - look both Rady Sr. and Jr. are good people. This post has nothing to do with them as people. You are prolly right that I should not have taken a shot at them, I simply saw his name and that was the first thing that came to mind. Do I hold a grudge? Maybe, you could say that I am somewhat bitter. Don't get the impression that I got "cut" or anything like that either - don't think for a second that I sucked.... lol

Hopefully my post was did not offend you or Tom, if so I am sorry for that. I guess I figured it would stir up conversation and that's all I wanted to do really. I guess if you people don't like the way I post or the way I act, then maybe you should just keep your opinions about me to yourself as well. Because it's actually the same thing...

I mean what is this thread about anyways? Most of you people don't even know the facts - the most memorable transfer ever was GO and he left TH for more reasons than to simply play hoops for LN. And if you really believe deep down inside that is the only reason he left then you must understand that he made the best decision he ever could have made. But I guess you would have had to have played with, coached or watched Greg in 8th grade to know the kind of basketball player he was at that time - VERY AVERAGE.....

morgan...oden was only part of the deal....

there were at least three or four other th south basketball players, including recina russell, who all ended up at lawrence north....my comment has always been...one kid leaving and going to LN is one thing....two makes you curious...three makes you wonder.....and four????

even if oden went to LN....Russell went to Larence Central...and the other two went to Ben Davis...ok...fine...but all four to the same school????.....and all within a few years of each other....sounds suspicious to me.....

I know what you are saying Tom and interesting enough I knew Chaz Spicer (I rode to Tenn. with him and a few other guys to a basketball camp one summer) and I knew Racina Russelln and I am not saying something did or did not go on here, but did you personally know these kids or their family? Did you know their situation? I think not - I think they all "for whatever" reason made good decisions for them and their families and that's whats important to understand here...

morgan..you are correct sir....

i dont know their respective situations....and i am sure that keefer and the lawrence north athletic department most likely made their moves "profitable" to friends and family...just kidding......i was just surprised that the ihsaa never even investigated it....channel 6 here in indy did....but nothing ever came of it....
