i thought Seaton Hall was the first team out making them the overall 1 seed
First Four out was Oklahoma, Seton Hall, ISU, Pitt. OK and Pitt had better things to do so it went down the list until Wake and Utah also ended up as #1 seeds.

Honestly with so many teams declining invites, the NIT bracket tends to be pretty haphazard so you can't really read into things like best overall seed, best #2 seed, etc

And wasn't Villanova a 1 seed? They finished the year one game over .500 and were a quick exit.

Depending if Arizona makes the final 4 or not. The fact that we have the chance to give the Pac12 it's very last loss as a conference is pretty dang cool. Also saw where there has NEVER been a 32 win team to not make the NCAA tournament, just another layer in a historic snub

Nice. Trying to become a trivia question answer is always fun.

You can call this a reach, but...

1979 Final Four, we play at the University of Utah basketball venue.
2024 Final Four, we play the actual University of Utah basketball team.

They include a PAC 12 rank, but I see they didn't want to include the MVC rank. And we're listed with 29 wins.

Also, Utah is a terrible free throw shooting team, sheesh.

Wait, Arizona is still playing??

Oh, that's right... they're sitting at home
