Just one side note, the Tide, Alabama going to the final 4, one more reason why the committee ruled wrong on us!!! I believe, at beginning of season we played on their home court early season, and lost by 20, but Goggle man was out for that game. Great we are going to NIT of 4 teams, lets just whip some Ass at Hinkle!!!!
Great pics!!

I think it's irony or destiny that in 1979 we lost the championship in UTAH. Now we have to beat UTAH to win it all. Good omen or bad omen??????

College Baseball made it to the CWS in 1958 (NAIA) and 1986. I know that's 8 teams, but it's still the equivalent of the Final 4 in baseball. Football has only been FCS since 1982, and while I'm not 100% certain I am doubting we ever played in a playoff format until we were FCS considering that FBS never played an actual championship game until 1998.

Baseball's two trips to the NAIA World Series and the NCAA World Series is a quarter of times MBB has advanced to the Final Four of a National Tournament.

8 is greater than 2. In 1958, the Trees were 1-2 in the NAIA World Series; 1986, the Trees were 0-2

Football... 3 playoff appearances in 45 years of NCAA Div I-AA/NCAA Div I-FCS playoffs... a 2-3 record

NCAA Div I-AA/FCS Playoffs BEGAN in 1978; NCAA Div II & Div III began in 1973. NAIA Football playoffs began in 1956

And there were a number of #1-#2 bowl match-ups pre-1998 that settled most of the arguments on "best team in Div I-A/FBS"

MBB... 7 previous National Tourney Final 4s... the Trees are 7-7, with 1 (one) title (1950) & 4 (four) title game appearances; arguably 1949 when the lost the Semi-final and the consolation game would be a disappointment

Yeah, this is stupid. This isnt the final four. this is the final four of the NIT. The Football team was in the top 16 of their divison in 2014 which has been since we have made the NCAA. And if you want to say we should have been in the tournament this year, we should have made the playoffs in 2018

Am I the only one who's not getting a hard-on about playing at Hinkle Fieldhouse? Would much rather this be at the Pacers arena so we could actually get fans in the game that wanted to go.

Completely indifferent to where the team is playing -- the important thing is they are still playing when 355 or so OTHER lesser teams are sitting on their asses.

What's better? A sold-out Hinkle? or a 2/3 filled Conseco, Bankers Life, Gainbridge Fieldhouse?

Playing MBB in April... 8 teams can make that claim.

Don't let the NCAA henchmen lead you astray... Final 4 - period.

Football team... Top 16... Still did NOT play in the Semis of that playoff.

Why drag 2018 into this? That team didn't make it, has zero bearing on HS JS, Larry Blurrd and the rest of the squad still hooping in April

True, but I guess I'd take a 2/3 filled Pacers arena so our fans aren't getting squeezed for tickets on the secondary market.

Does the football team have a National Title... at any time in the program history?

Maybe so... I'll not going to worry about it, I'm simply going to enjoy the game, 72 inch screen and all of the cold "free" beers that I want, hell, I even have 'instant replay'
