For the love of God, will you please get rid of that media table in front of the students on Saturday? Not one of your better ideas...

If you agree, reply below...

How polite of you. I'll be a bit stronger - it's asinine.

If it's still there, I might move it myself!

I've spoken with many season ticket holders and donors. They agree with us. MOVE THE TABLE!

Dumbest thing ive ever seen. I have never sat in the student section but if I did I would be extremely upset with the table being there.

Wait, what is this? It has been about five years since I have been able to make it back for a bball game at the Hulman Center, so someone is going to have to describe this. They put a media table right down on the floor in front of the students? Does it stretch all the way across or just one side of the basket? Is it on the North end (visitor bench) or the South end?

It's right in front of the student section on the right side of the basket, so it is not right next to the visitor bench or band and doesn't stretch across the entire length of the court.

North end (student section) one side of the basket - I believe that would be the west side of the basket.

I have to get back for a game, been to long. I am afraid I might not even recognize the inside of the Hulman Center, so much as changed.

Why the table is there...

The table isthere because of complaints made by fellow students such as me about other students in the student section. The words that come out of there mouth are embarrassing and if any of u heard the things they said, you would feel the same way. There are kids in the building and it probably isn't a good thing that they hear things like, "you dumb fu**king cu*t." Since the table was put there, students have stopped saying such assinine (spelling?) things (for the most part) - it's definitely gotten better. This whole thing started at the request of other students, not because of any athletics department staff members. Yelling and screaming at the refs and players is fine, but a line has to be drawn at some point. Blame the front row of the student section for ruining it for every1 else.

That seems like a pretty good reason...I know someone else is going to say the contrary but at Illinois state the red zone is very well organized and they seemed pretty conscience about how their words are perceived as sportmanship...

Remove the individuals, don't punish the group. Jeez! Move the table! It's beyond a no-brainer.

Sorry you're so offended. Better cancel HBO...

I agree with removing the offending individuals; but how do you pick them out? Maybe we need bouncers in the Forest????? The actions and attitudes described by DaleFor is certainly NOT THE IMAGE OF ISU I want to give officials and visiting athletes.

sorry not going to cut it for me. Remove the students who say these things! Putting a bench there does nothing but damper student support and create a risk for the athletes. I understand your complaint but the way they went about solving it is awful.

Police those that need it but move the table. For one it just looks stupid! Front row students please tone what ever you said down and help the situation. The table needs to be moved. Who would a season ticket holder contact to help get it moved? Would an email or two to John Sherman help?

They could learn a lesson or two from both the Colts and the Pacers (in fact I think both leagues now require it). You have a guy in a yellow coat who stands there looking at the crowd (not the ball game) and WATCHES for jerks like that. Dish out $8 an hour and put the guy there. Period. They won't yell things then because they know they will be escorted out if they get obscene. Do it. And then remove the fricking table. This whole thing reeks. It shouldn't be an issue. Put a guy there to police it. End of story.

How about the offended individuals flag down an usher? That is how it works in every other arena I've been to. That is one of the job responsibilities of the usher. We've got ushers assigned to the upper decks that sit empty. If there is such a big problem in the student section, then reassign them down there instead of having them guard 2,000 empty yellow seats.

I'll tell you what. If the table is there this weekend, I will not buy another basketball ticket until it's removed. It's absolute horseshit and a bush league way of handling the situation. Quit being passive aggressive and handle the situation like a D1 athletics program game day staff should.

When this happened and you went to get an usher to let them know about it, what happened?
