Didn't realize they run a spread offense. Should that be a reason for concern? They also return a fair amount of starters.

I have a feeling the Sycamores will be nervous and anxious at the start but once they settle down I think the Sycamores will take this one. Prediction: ISU-17 Quincy-6

Talk about returning starters, we return something like 20? We are by far the most experienced sophmore class around. Can't wait till the season starts.

72 letterwiner's returning is hard to believe, how many people do they have on their roster. They must consider everyone a letter winner. If they have 72 people coming back and they are adding 47 that make 119 players, something is not right there.

Is there a max. cap...

on players? Scholarship players, yes (63 for NCAA Div 1 FCS) but players?

Football scholarships cannot be split - correct?

Excited to see the renovations and the Sycamores in action! Keeping my fingers cross that this is the start of something really positive around here!

Football scholarships can be split in the FCS. I count 37 returning lettermen on their roster, 37 new players (incoming Freshmen or transfers), and 89 total players, although I think that is a little high because there are at least a couple of rostered players that I know aren't on the team or even at school. I'm not sure how they have decided to distribute the shcolarships, but they probably have to give more full offers to incoming Freshman than the other MVFC schools do. The other schools use partials to keep their numbers up, then award full scholarships to upperclassmen who prove they are players. This is where ISU needs to get to, but will take several years to do so.

That sounds more like it newsycfan, I didn't think they had 119 players.

I agree with your stance on the distribution of scholarships as well. That is the best way to do it. You have to get your program to a point that people want to be a part of it though. Can't wait until we get there.

I don't care if Quincy has 20 players or 150 players. Let's play some football !!!!!

GO SYCAMORES !!!!!!!!!

I am going to try to take a half day and get over to the stadium about 2 or 3. Should give me plenty of time to get it going. We are always on the west side right off the trail toward the south side of the stadium. We'll be working in a little brewsky drinking and a little cornhole throwing prior to the kick-off. Can't wait!!!!!

Alright, I'm off to pick up Sackalot and then head to Terre Haute. I hope to get up to the stadium early (we've got some business at ISU) and hope to meet some of you folks. If nothing else, be sure to tell a couple people you see about SycamoreFootball.com so we can get more folks on here talking about football.
