All on May 9 at the Thompson Saloon over in Marshall Illinois we are going to be hosting a bourbon and cigar party. All proceeds benefiting crossroads of champions.

Cost will be $100 per person. Burnon/Cigars/Hors d’oeuvres included 7-10pm. Coach Graves athletic director and president all expected to be in attendance.

We only have 150 tickets to sell to this event. Annual or monthly subscribers to crossroads of champions, we have first access to tickets. Website will open it up to them for a couple days before we start selling to the general public.

* We are in the very early stages of a family friendly event at the Hulman center in July that will potentially be free to all COC members. I don’t want to give away too many details on that event yet because we have a lot of details we are still working on.

I would suggest attempting to have that July event (or some other engagement opportunity) free to all. As you accurately said, the CoC success absolutely needs every donor level.
One of the largest opportunities has been and remains driving engagement with the former, low, or non-donor. The CoC and ISU needs all the assistance it can get.
Great progress either way!

Good thought - If the event has a cost it will be minimal. But the idea is to raise money for COC… It’s a bit of a dog eat dog world right now.

I haven’t been in a single meeting where we don’t discuss ways to get more of those monthly donors in that $10-100 range. It’s probably our biggest goal along side hitting $500k annual budget which is very attainable.

Thanks for the feedback!

Along with the idea of “free” to CoC and gaining more monthly donors…advertise the event as free for CoC members signed up for monthly giving prior to the event date. Hopefully this will spark more monthly donors.
Guess I don’t really love the free idea in the sense that the whole CoC/NIL objective is to raise as much $$ as possible.

Correct, that was the original intent free to anyone who currently gives to COC.

Honestly, go grassroots. Get a shelter at Deming Park and just have a good ole fashioned cookout. Potluck style... bring a dish and $10.

Whether free or low cost, might be worth considering adding a couple visible CoC donation areas & publicize it once or twice at the event. Very low pressure. Might be an easy 1k to 2k.

Personally, I'm inclined to donate some cash when I'm having a good time at a no or low cost charity type event.
