Lansing and Marshall two names being thrown around down here. No one has a clue just thought I'd share.

How many chances do you have to be a Millionaire? Good move for Stevens. Succeed or fail....................he will still be a multi-millionaire. And in a few years like a couple of other well-known coaches, could probably still land a pretty elite college job if he wanted.

Is Ainge calling the shots in Beantown? I just don't see it...another Pitino experiment. He'll be back, after getting tired of the NBA egos:)

As a Boston fan I can tell you this was NO WHERE even on the rumor radar! Huge shocker but can't blame him or the Celts for going after him...Should be interesting as Boston is in total rebuild mode.

Why college coaches bounce like the ball they play with. Wonder how much Bird was involved?

Why would he try to land the most coveted coach in the country outside of Phil Jackson to coach against the Pacers?? I get the whole Boston angle but no chance he had ANYTHING to do with it at all.

I thought the same thing. Butler has historically elevated an assistant to the head coaching position to continue and espouse "The Butler Way". Saw in the IndyStar on-line that Graves said he would not be a candidate....we'll see.

Personally, I think Butler may have bitten of more than they can chew and Stevens being the smart analytic guy is said to be may have concerns about that also. They would not only be recruiting against some really big time programs in the "New" Big East, but also old foes in the Big Ten Conference in which two are in Indiana. I just don't see them having the kind of success that they are accustomed to, but this move was really about the $$$$$$ anyway I believe...just as it was with Stevens. Money talks and bullshit walks.

Following the Butler program will be interesting for the next few weeks and few years. I can't help but wonder if this caught Butler as shocked as the rest of the country is. A transfer here and a transfer there and a questionable coaching hire could quickly make the Bulldogs the least of the east. It would be a shame to see much of their gains the past few years go down the tubes, but I wouldn't shed a tear to see them struggle and lose the aura they feel they now have. If they don't hire from within, I look for them to go outside of Indiana to find a coach.

After watching 3 sports casts on difference Indy stations I understand that Barry Collier was as shocked as the rest of us.

I wondered about that too Rap-man. Bird has close ties with Danny Ainge and if anyone could speak about Brad from a coaching standpoint, it would be Bird.

Wow, this is truly shocking! Something to finally break up a dull summer on the college scene
