I don't get it. I truly don't get it. What she has done for the university and more specifically the last 2 months is unforgivable. How does she keep getting awards and recognitions? Its apparent that nobody can stand her, whether is employees, fans, alumni, insiders, outsiders, etc. Her PR team is the best in the business, that's for sure

This is getting scary. Since the Baseball Super Regional blunder, all is quiet on the ISU president front.
Don’t mention it and it’ll be forgotten and go away.
Hopefully there are people working secretly to get her ousted.

Ya. Doesn’t it require A PHD to be even considered?

I’m absolutely sure it does…

I posted last time a couple members brought up his name and it’s worth repeating since someone brought him up again. I’ve known Bob for nearly 30 years - I was friends with his son growing up. I’ve leased property off him to hunt for several years. I like Bob and his wife very much.

He is not the answer for Indiana State’s next President and his name shouldn’t even be considered - I’m dumbfounded why it keeps getting brought up. Bob has to be nearing full on retirement - I can’t imagine he will be a State Rep for too much longer. The job as President of Indiana State is going to require a lot of hard work and someone who has the time/energy committed to getting it done. Bob does not strike me as someone who would be committed to that at this point in his life.

I had the good fortune to have served on 2 search committees at ISU. The last one was for President. It's an interesting process and might be different today. The committee was composed of alumni, (I represented the Alumni Board), faculty, Dean and non-alumni of note from within the state. The committee members were very accomplished individuals. The process was thorough and conducted in complete secrecy. The candidate's interviews were held in Indianapolis at an undisclosed location. The committee was charged with recommending finalists for the position. The ultimate decision was up to the Board of Trustees.

Yep. These are pay for play publications.
In my experience it's specific to the lists. They're money generators for them. If one of your people makes it, they'll ask if you'd like to advertise with them to congratulate the individual. Their general news coverage is not pay-to-play but they're local business pubs, so their role really is to serve as cheerleader for the local business community as those people are their core audience.

OK, folks, I'm late to the party. Here's the backstory.

The Debster, such an influential leader (hahahahahah), went apoplectic when she wasn't selected last year. In her typical style, she lashed out at subordinates. Nothing is ever her fault, you know. I was ordered to get an explanation from IBJ. I was told the Debster was considered but not deemed accomplished enough.

This year? I have no doubt she moved mountains (and spent a lot of money) to make sure that last year's "wrong" was corrected.

What a joke. Deb, one of the 250 of the state's most influential leaders? Give me a break. Her "leadership" has resulted in huge enrollment declines and a $12 million (or is it $16 million, hmmmmm) deficit.

This university deserves so much better.

You would think the IBJ would have at least some self respect. If she is on any list as a “leader” than the entire list (and to a larger extent the publication pushing the list) is worthless.

Outline the $12-$16M deficit -- I've lost that bubble

I believe he refers to the 12M budget cuts as mentioned months ago by the Trib Star, IBJ and even the Indiana Statesman. Hopefully they can stop the enrollment bleeding so there isn’t a need to cut more.
