Thought about breaking my ISU embargo and went to Ticketmaster. Only lower bowl stuff is in the visitor section. :silenced:

Considering IUPUI only draws about 250 people at home games, I can't imagine they will be bringing a very large group to Terre Haute. I went to two IUPUI games at the Jungle last year and if you took away the visiting fans and the people who were only there because their little kids were performing at halfitme, they probably had no more than 600 people total for both games.

.....sure u weren't at the local high school game! Wonder how these teams pay their bills and stay afloat.
Reminds me of a high school game not too long ago. The game was between two teams that hated each other and had battled the first half! At half time we had the dancing bear--the tumblers--the jugglers--grade school all-stars recognition etc. Coach looked at me --after waiting to get back on the floor to start the second half--and said. " somewhere in this F*****G Circus we are suppose to be playing a basketball game"!!:biggrin:
Most high schools and some college teams have all these " dog and pony shows" in an effort to pay the bills! I don't recall all that BS back in the dayz and seems like it is only getting worse!
Oh how I live for the return of the day when folks went to the game to see their team battle and knock the other team on their ass!
Guess I'm a dinosaur!

The only tickets in those sections are in the upper rows.

Who wants to bet that 50% of the lower bowl will be empty?

Indiana State should start a ticket exchange online so that people can buy tickets from season tix holders that don't attend more than two games a season. Would be a win win.

Helluva idea, BT! Maybe 'Boda could add a separate section to Syc Pride to "prime" the idea?

You need to go watch a Batesville-Greensburg game. A couple of weeks ago they met in Batesville people starting lining up at 5:00 p.m. the place was packed a half-hour before the jv game. The return game is in January at Greensburg.

Got a forward thinker here. This type of thinking outside the box just might go a long ways in the H.C. ticket office. Blue-you got my vote! GO SYCAMORES!

Not exactly a new thought on here but Blue, I think your right on target......it's time for this to happen. This no-show mentality is KILLING ISU basketball and has thru the "tough" years (which actually are MOST of the years in HC). The lower bowl being 20% empty for "big" games and 40-50% empty for the majority, truly sucks and reflects horribly on athletics at ISU, IMO. It also reflects poorly on the school when we're on TV (non-TH) and that mass of empty blue seats sitting there time after time. Not too sure why we can't do it because I know that other schools similar to us do it, even where their problem isn't nearly as acute as ours.

Sounds like Batesville's trying to model BudDawgII's 2009 Princeton fan base, which the Seymour A.D. echoed was the largest he'd seen since '90 Damon Bailey & Bedford! Princeton def. Greensburg in the semi-state (5k of the 8k attendance were from Princeton) & won the IHSAA 3A the next weekend, UNDEFEATED.

Looking at my TV guide, I'm seeing a Mountain Biking program listed at the time of the game on WTWO....is this the same for anyone else?

The Women's ISU/Butler game is being televised by WAVU-ABC 1st @ 1:00 PM, then WTWO-NBC will be broadcasting the ISU/IUPUI game @ 3:00 PM, at least according to my main local TV news hottie, Sydney Benter.

Agree with you Bank! We know all about Hoosier Hysteria---packed gyms--day in-day out--folks fighting over tickets and standing in lines and everything else that goes into a season that ends with a 29-0 record and a State Championship. Hell had State and Federal Representatives calling for tickets and arrangements. Only the tenth team in Indiana high school history to ever run the table-undefeated--and then win a State Title!
Indiana basketball at its finest ---when u are on a roll like that!
Believe they are still counting the $$$$$$$$'s that came in from that team and season!
Like Banks has said its all about the entertainment value that one receives from purchasing that ticket and being part of something exciting!
Just win baby win----Go Trees!

Seeking----predictions on the crowd and score of todays game?
Stuck in Eville with torrential rain. Sons are in for Christmas and plan to take the UE/Butler game in this afternoon!
Will be a very tall order for these young Aces. If they play like they did against Xavier it should be a good game. However, if they play like they did against IU and that powerhouse Jackson State team lol-- ---well it will be very--very --ugly!
Interesting ---in that they said on local sports that UE has beaten Butler three of their last four games. Also, that Butler has announced that this will be their last game with UE--no more contract! lol Kinda reminds me of what happened to ISUwhen they played IU-- and the consequences of beating the big dogs---or BULLDOGS!:whiteflag:
Go Trees---Go Aces! May need a boat to get down to the Ford Center!:swimming:

I don't care how many people show up just as long as #13 doesn't turn the freaking ball over 7 times like he did against SLU. He was awful (Henson).

I predict a win by State but see no reason to predict a double digit win. Anything over ten would be pleasing. Would love to see us come out and dominate and cruise home un the second half, but thats unlikely.

As I mentioned in another thread, I've watched IUPUI a handful of times. I watched them give Missouri a pretty good scared for 30 minutes or so before they pulled away. If our team comes out and pussyfoots around, we could be in for a real let down.

We need to come out and put the foot on the accelerator for 40 minutes. No prevent fucking offense.
