0-2 in the conference with a home loss to a middle pack squad and blown out on the road by one of the contenders. Boys we are what we are

That was about as much fun as you can hope to have on a Sunday night, just fantastic.
In all seriousness, when we get off to a hot start in games I immediately wonder when the wheels will fall off. It feels like every time we have jumped out to a quick start we fall apart soon after and lose the game. We just dont seem to be able to out together a full game....he'll sometimes we can barely put together 20 minutes. Here's hoping the next home game goes better....but the competition doesn't get any easier.

I mean from my perspective nothing about that start was sustainable. I don’t know what to tell you - to me it wasn’t taking the foot off the gas it was more of us reverting back to who we really are.

So I guess I just don’t see it that way at all - sorry.

If memory serves correctly, then acting AD, Angie, did a quick, thorough coaching search, & determined HCMG was best choice.
given the LATE departure of "that other coaching person," other than hang interim on Graves - were there many choices?

Valid question. Don't know how many. Never heard specific number. At Graves welcome aboard hire press conference, Angie briefly explained the candidate search / hiring process. Appreciated her transparency. She seemed genuine & that she really wanted to hire the best available. Believe she said "national search," & believe a search firm was used to assist. 80% certain on those last 2 details.

Someone with high interest likely could find Graves full 30-40 minute hire ceremony on YouTube that took place in the Hulman Center within a couple weeks after the "former coach" resigned, and post it. Angie shares about the candidate search. But it doesn't really matter. I'm not second guessing her decision.

I'm late to the party...had to watch the game on delay...ticked off SSOM didn't take out the power on this end of town 2 hours ago.
We have top to bottom personnel issues. Movement looked great first 10 min and we couldn't sniff anything. Not sure we have anyone who can finish at the rim with contact. And even if we get a whistle at the rim we're lucky to get 2.

I was more speaking on the entirety of the season's collective good starts. Of course that blistering start yesterday wasn't sustainable, I know that. I am talking about when we start off games playing well, good player movement, ball moving lively from player to player, leaving good shots for better ones that sort of thing. Maybe I'm wrong, but it feels like when we start the game that way, it never lasts long. Then, within minutes its like a completely different team took the court. Is that not what everyone else has noticed? I don't have to time to look deep right now, but seriously, have we had a game where we started off playing well, and it ended in a win? Hell, I'll even accept one of the non DI games as an example.

The best example I can think of right now is the SIUE game. I know we started off well and played most of the 1st half well building a sizeable advantage, then if I recall, we gave it all up in the last few minutes of the half. It felt like in the blink of an eye. We did end up winning, so I guess I've answered my own question here, but it wasn't so much us playing well, but more like SIUE player worse the rest of the game.
