Seems like Lansing always has a pretty good defensive plan for whatever the situation. McWhorter has taken on a few really good players in his short time (still only a sophomore ?) and normally does very well with the challenges he is given. Players he defend usually don't enjoy the game much.

Last Season: Rice @ Des Moines, 34 minutes, 12 points, 4/14 FG.
@ Terre Haute, 33 minutes, 9 points, 2/10 FG

Good point, Coach, but does anyone know who was primarily responsible for guarding Rice in those two games? I would imagine it was Carter or Kelly, but Kelly missed some significant time due to his illness.

Regardless, I trust SM's ability to guard most players on the perimeter. He's a fantastic on-the-ball defender.

Mark Phelps says Seth VanDeest is around 70% and needs to be 90% to play... Reece Uhlenhopp will be available tomorrow vs. Indiana State

I honestly forgot all about Seth VanDeest and Reece Uhlenhopp. I don't see VanDeest playing, but I wonder how effective Uhlenhopp will be.

On a side note...I saw an interesting stat in Todd Golden's article this morning:

"ISU has had Drake’s number since Phelps took over as Drake’s coach in 2008. The Sycamores are 6-1 against Phelps-coached teams, have won six in a row in the series, and have won two straight at the Knapp Center in Des Moines, Iowa."

Everyone is touting Drake's dominance at home, but it appears we've been successful there recently with our core group of guys playing tonight.

I was at the Drake game at Hulman Center last year and VanDeest had a nice game against us. Honestly, he was the guy that kept them around as long as they were. Anytime a 6'11" big that can score won't be on the floor, that's a win before the game tips.

Is this game online @ Drakes website? How much is it if so?

Drake is a NeuLion partner so it will be on Sycamore Vision. Bradley, Creighton, Northern Iowa and Wichita State are all NeuLion clients as well so there is content sharing and those games are on Sycamore Vision when the Sycamores are on the road.

It's too bad the MVC doesn't require all institutions to be NeuLion clients so there would be 100% content sharing.

Did I see the Vegas odds right? We r only a one pt favorite ??

The line actually opened yesterday with Drake a 1-point favorite. Now they have our Sycamores a 1-point favorite ? I'll still take the Sycamores all day long.

nearly everyone on mvcfans.com is picking Drake to win, hope that's not the case tonight! Need a big road win to start MVC play. We'll find out if we're pretenders or contenders tonight.

Sycamore Vision is up. National Anthem is on. No sound on the feed though.

We're wearing the powder blues tonights.
