I don’t like the message it sends when you empty the bench with 2:30 - 3:00 to go, down 15. Are you gonna win? Probably not. Have I seen it happen? Yes. A few defensive stops and a few threes, and the OSU faithful are suddenly sweating. I just think you go down punching. Not putting in the walk on.

Regardless, our guys have nothing to hang their heads about. They showed up and competed. We can finish top four in the Valley. Don’t know if we will, because a lot can happen, but we certainly can.

ready for valley play after that showing. I’ve seen a lot of MVC ball and I think we are the 3rd best team. Drake/Bradley clearly the best 2 and everyone else is average. I am not high on Belmont. Watch Drake smoke them today
 
The lane violation to technical foul was the nail in the coffin.. 12 pt game ballooned to 16 after they miss a FT. If you've got to pull that kind of stuff out your ass to blow a whistle, you're either on the take or terrible, and neither of those things are going to help us.

this is what you are going to take away from this game? You really think that was a 5 possession game? You really think the refs were going to go 2 possessions without a foul call, let alone 5. You think we were going to go 5-5 on 3s? You think we have the athletic personnel to put on a press and hurry-up and cause a more athletic and longer Ohio State team into turnovers.

I get the sentiment of "not giving up" but it was over my man

If it wasn’t for the way the refs were calling the game then yes. But the refs were never going to let that happen.

It's one thing I take away, yes. The guys fought hard and played their asses off. They were on the wrong end of a poorly officiated game, but we didn't do enough defensive scheme wise to cause any disruption to OSU's offense. It just rubs me wrong to put the bench in there....sends a bad message in my opinion. 1:30 in a 15 point game, okay.....but a lot can happen in 2:45.

I guess I am the problem here, so my apologies. I don't handling losing well, but I think I hate having a game where you compete hard and have to try and overcome extra obstacles and the final score looks like you never had a chance more. The flow of this game made it hard for us to play the way we want, and I was mad about how it was trending and coach throwing in the towel set me off. If I'm the piece of shit for that mentality, okay.....but I have never been the type to stop trying even if it's not likely. We hadn't hit many 3's the second half....but we can get hot and hit several in a row at any time. I was not disappointed with the play. Wish the defense was better, but had zero problems with the effort.

The thing is we all understand what you were getting at and none of us like losing but we also factor in the way the game is being called. If the refs would have let them play then absolutely you don’t take the starters out. But we also wasn’t getting stops either. That’s a lot to bank on with not much time and Teel had 4 fouls. I appreciate your passion.

We were covering the spread when the subs were made. Is that part of the issue?

I had us covering the +18.5 and felt good until we cleared our bench. Personally didn’t have an issue with going to the bench because the way the game was called there was no coming back. Too many whistles on contested shots.
