I’m pumped. Playing games like that this late in the season and overcoming some bullshit to win on the road. What more can you ask for, love it
We’re definitely not going to beat every team like we did UIC 40 point margin. This is the stuff that separates a better than average from great teams, coming away with a win through shear grit and determination.

Couple other things - as Hans said, we don't lose our composure. Other thing, I have so much confidence in the adjustments that Coach makes at halftime. I've been prepared since Wednesday to possibly lose this game. Actually winning and I'm on cloud 9. How about freaking Ryan Conwell? Dude came up big again.
What he said...

Just shows you how good our starting 5.
They won’t all make First Team, but I was thinking earlier today how coach assembled the PERFECT starting 5.
They all compliment each other so well and excel in their individual roles for winning basketball.
Individual players like X Johnson and DeVries are really good individual players, but I wouldn’t trade any of our 5 for them.
And then of course, a great 6th man to the mix.

Enjoy!

We had nearly the same number of points in the paint as they did.

We had multiple guys end up on the floor on their drives -- sometimes 2 on one possession. Don't overthink it.
I think you may be overthinking it. It’s simple math. Thinking and whining about officiating is the problem with game threads. It’s not a foul if they don’t call it. On the road you’re not getting many calls. Especially when shooting 40 threes in 40 min. Only 24 attempted twos in comparison to 43 for MSU. Easier to draw fouls shooting inside than bombing threes.

You mean Valpo? We barely won at UIC…….

I do not see us winning this game. Rarely say that. Just don’t see it.

Not calling you out, Twitch (sorry)... But you and I have seen a lot of the same games over the years. Many, many, many games, we would have not come out on top in this kind of game.. But this team has made me believe that we will overcome any slow starts, or late deficits... I had 5 people in my living room today watching, and I kept saying "I'm not worried - I won't win my bets, but we will win this game". This team just makes you believe that they will pull it out... Just a solid TEAM.

"Something big is going on in his head. 5 for 17 from three is NOT acceptable"

SWOPE... 5-17... We needed every one. The coach will tell shooters when to quit shooting!!!

Refs miss calls all the time. It’s pretty simple. However the refs want to call the game, call it both ways. This isn’t about how many fouls were drawn. This is about the difference in officiating. This isn’t about drawing fouls.

If that complaint wasn't logged on this board every game, I might agree. But I don't know if there have been too many games this year where almost half the posts in a game thread have not been about how State is getting jobbed, they won't call this or that, we are getting screwed, etc.

Not saying anyone needs to change their ways, or stop posting or anything like that. Post whatever you want, its a message board. But I know for me personally, it is a big reason why I don't post at all during a game. I don't care to read about how we are constantly getting screwed and the other team is ALWAYS getting the benefit of every call. There were plenty of calls yesterday that went our way that shouldn't. There were plenty that went MSU's way that shouldn't.

I don’t think anyone on here believe any of the games are “fixed” against State. It’s pretty simple, we’re ISU fans and we’re gonna call it out in the heat of the moment when Jabo gets smashed twice on one trip.

Jason also pointed out how many times Hannah from BU set his wide stance picks and went uncalled a couple weeks ago. Fast forward to last night and he got called for it at least twice against Drake.

It’s really odd after all these years people think there’s not going to be complaining about the stripes.
