Anybody worried this could a Tenn State type game..??...let down game...no crowd energy...no player energy....??

I think everyone believes we just need to thow our jerseys on the floor and Valpo is going to wilt...I expect them to come with a lot of energy...

If we shoot as poorly as we did against Drake Valpo might be in this game a long time...

A Super Bowl you say?

Valpo doesn’t have the shooters it takes to beat us. And I say that as a Valpo-sympathizer. They just won’t be able to keep up with our scoring. We’ll win by 20+.

Valpo's scoring is 51.4% 2, 31.5% 3 and 17.1% FTs and 64.2% of their shot attempts are 2FG range vs 35.8% from 3.

They don't but they've been playing much better as of late. I think I've watched the last 4 and they played SIU, Missouri State and Drake relatively tight and lost to Evansville in the last minutes. The Schwieger kid has had a nice stretch as of late but I think he is a 4 and Valpo doesn't like he doesn't rebound like a 5. He will probably shoot like 5-6 3FGs so will be interesting to see if we put Robbie on him or let Kent handle him up top and then Robbie can defend the Palm/Sepp combo.

The key to a comfortable win will probably how well Larry defends Stafford. If we contain both of them, it should be ugly.

This is the team in the Valley I haven't watched a lick of this season. I expect Conwell and Swope to get it rolling from deep again and hopefully put this game away early. Also, hope Julian continue his aggressive play attacking the rim.

They looked absolutely terrible early in league play and even though they're still losing, they're getting better and developing some chemistry. They have absolutely no inside presence as the freshman Schwieger is a stretch 4 playing at the 5 -- think playing RJ Mahurin at the 5.

If you can get their guards into foul trouble, they then go to some freshman who look absolutely clueless. I can't remember which it was because both start with a W, but I watched one be out of position or gamble unnecessarily on several possessions in a row. Powell will need to turn over quite a bit this offseason. I will say his guys look like they're playing hard for him despite their limitations.

This is a game that, because of their lack of post defense, that we get back to the pace and space and try to rack up points in the paint and get that mojo back. This is a game where Kent could probably drop 16 off of his cutting.

Also forgot, their other two bigs (Palm/Sepp) make no attempt to do anything offensively. So this is a game where I wouldn't expect Avila to be in any sort of foul trouble or have to effort to defend.

Ah yes, RJ Mahurin. First 2 things that come to mind when I hear his name are
1. How many more dozens of trailer 3's would he have had if he was just a step faster?
2. Man the Mahurin/Odum/Eitel/Eitel Pizza Hut Classic years were sooooooo goooooood!!!

With the game that RJ had...he would've absolutely flourished under HCJS's system.

Agreed, they definitely look and are playing better than earlier in the season. I'm a Schwieger fan, I hope he stays in Valpo for several years (or his whole career), but they would have to play out of their minds just to keep it close with us.
